I'm sure people would love a translation of the article. @ichitaka05, your services are needed.
What do I get in return? lol

They're talking bout how next gen 86/BRZ is possibly 1.6L turbo from Levorg (WRX hatch). By 2020, Toyota will have big (Supra), mid (86) & small (S-FR) released for everyone's wants & needs.

They're quoting several sentences... but they're not saying "who" they're quoting nor where they got the resource. I would just take it as a grain of salt.

Internet cookie for you.

As far as the concept goes, it's just way too outlandish and unrealistic to be taken seriously in general let alone something Toyota would actually display as a concept, especially with that gaping maw front end. Not to mention that some parts of the car almost look like they were taken from a Lexus, Subaru, and Mazda parts bin.

I get where Cole is coming from when he called the concept a cartoon image and I definitely agree with him on that front. Though I'm happy with the design of the twins over the original FT86 concept car, at least even that was still a great-looking concept and actually looked like it could have entered production as-is.

If there even lies a bit of truth somehow and Toyota displays this as an actual concept car, I will throw up and question the sanity of Toyota's design department.

Of course, this is just my opinion, which varies differently from others.

No wonder there are so many clickbaits and magazines when so many people think every speculative/fictional write up is the next official concept or production car.

Not feeling the speculative car it looks too derivative of everything from Asia. I think the original concept car looks better. I hope the designers don't pull the same thing as the Nissan Z's -talk about running out of ideas between the 350Z & 370Z.

The only decent idea is using the small turbo engine from the Levorg. I wonder if that could fit in the 86 and still keep the center of gravity as low as it is now.

Cool, an ugly wild render and random speculation from a magazine.

yeah, I have kinda given up on any hope of the sfr especially in the US.

a 1.6turbo would be fun though

That would require them to leave their mother's attics... so we're safe for the most part.
