What class will the 2017 BRZ's be placed in? I read through the draft rules that where put out by SCCA in December, but that specifically only listed BRZ's up to 2016.
Completely OEM.

Street class hasn't been announced that I've seen. A BRZ is prepped the same for CS or DS, so if that's your plan, forge ahead with at least camber bolts to start.

As of right now, all standard models will be DS. Toyota(Scion) FRS Release Series with TRD Springs will remain in CS. And by that logic, i'd assume Yellow and Black Series BRZ with sachs shock and brembos will also be in CS.

Edit: didn't know 15s had sachs shocks. well in that case, the brembos sure will keep it in CS.

All the 2015+ have the Sachs dont they? And might not be in CS considering they don't get the sway bars or springs like the TRD, though they do get the aero bits.

Didn't realize 15s got Sachs. well in that case, doesn't the yellow and black series come with Brembos? if they do, i'm fairly sure it will stay in CS instead of dropping to DS.

They do have the Brembos in the performance pack option, and I believe it's standard on the yellow.series.

They also did get a more aggressively valved SACHS shock, I believe. That's probably what you were thinking of. But starting in '15 the supplier for the shocks on all models switched from Showa to SACHS.

OE dampers don't matter that much given that a prepared street class car will have Koni or Bilstein instead of whatever came OE. Crazy competitive guys will get those custom valved to get an edge.

2017 86 and BRZ got there own line due to changes made to the cars overall.
It will allow them to be re-classed on there own if needed.

The really crazy competitive guys will have something more hardcore such as MCS shocks. Just and FYI, there will be a local twin in DS with MCS two-way non-remotes this coming season.

2017 twins are likely to stay in CS unless otherwise classed.
Per the December FasTrack:

Move from CS to DS
BMW M3 (E36 chassis) (1995-1999)
Scion FRS (w/o TRD suspension components)(2013-2016)
Subaru BRZ (2013-2016)

What's the mandatory prep to jump from CS/DS to STX in these cars and be competitive at Nationals? Trying to decide if selling my RS1.0 or jumping it to STX is the better choice. Leaning towards selling...
