Window control rattles from stereo

I've been having door rattles as a result of bass from the stereo since I got my BRZ. I recently figured out that most of it could be stopped by just resting my fingers on the driver side window controls. I tried putting a bit of foam beneath the controls, and that helped, but didn't completely solve the problem. Has anyone else had any luck solving this issue?

Same here. Passenger side on the FRS as well. Hoping someone had solved this without deadening the entire door.

My driver's side door rattles with bass, I dont even listen to my music that loudly.

I thought I blew the speaker, but I havent maxed the volume on my radio yet.

I'm sure as a quick fix you could take the door panel off and use some rtv or similar around the backside of the window controls to prevent it from rattling.

Had the same problem with my brz!! been meaning to post. was thinking of replacing the controls. I even did the same thing to put my fingers over the buttons gently and problem solved.
I stopped paying attention to it and after I broguht my vehicle in for servicing(10k service) I noticed it had stopped. Never brought up this issue to them.
When I put my fingers over the buttons, unlike before, they are stiff and not loose or shaky. Not sure if over time it fixed itself or if they did something when i brought it in for service.

Yup, this happened to me too. I will be trying the dynamat fix when I take the doors off for some work.

Previously said it fixed itself...it came back. Brought it in to the dealer he said that should do it tell me how it is. Blasted bass, so far so good. But we'll see if it happens again.

What's dynamat?
Kinda performing thread necromancy here but I fixed my rattles and figured I'd share:

Dynamat is a material used for sound deadening, it's sold in sheets and has an adhesive on the back so it can be stuck to body panels and what have you. I fixed 99.9% of my door rattles by taking my door panels off, taking out the window switch, lining the edges (where the switch meets the door panel) with Dynamat, and putting it back together.

One caveat is for the bottom edge (where the little "teeth" that hold onto the door panel are); I ended up putting the Dynamat on the door panel edge rather than on the switch panel itself.

There's a small (~2mm) gap now between the door panel and the window switch, but it's hardly noticeable, and it's totally worth getting rid of those stupid rattles! The only rattles I get now are when I turn the stereo up WAY too loud and it sounds like it's coming from somewhere else in the door (probably the speaker panel).

There's an excellent tutorial for taking apart your door panels here: http://www.subaruaudio.net/installat...nd-scion-fr-s/
