I ran a 15.486 @ 89.43 mph
R/t .411
60' 2.418
330 6.538
1/8 9.998
Mph 71.16
1000 12.955

It was 98 degrees and humid as hell at eleven pm. Gotta love Arizona.

You have to remember that the mag's are getting 94 mph 1/4 traps (motor trend got 94 mph with a brz and fr-s full weight) but at a similar ET to ours (14.9)

This can be a few factors - fully broken in motor on full synthetic oil, climate (CA cool temps vs texas heat & humidity)

Point being if they get 94 mph with full weight in simmilar conditions I should be able to get 94mph in full weight.
Then factor in the 250 lbs weight reduction adding a solid 3mph. I can see 97 mph with a 250 lb lighter car.
Then factor in a 1.9 60' and slightly better acceleration from a smaller / lighter wheel & drag tire combo and you are looking at a 98-99 mph trap with zero power mods.
A 99 mph trap with a 1.9 60' and a 2400 lb car is good for a 13.9.

Of course this car wasn't built for drag racing, so its kind of sacrilegious to try to get a 13 sec n/a 1/4 mile time by prepping it specifically for drag racing.

I imagine most folks here would rather see a decent laptime at a well known road course
most/majority of car magazines correct their 1/4 mile, mph, and 0-60 times.
they are still beatable, most of them are journalist, but a large bit of them have racing experience, usually not drag racing though.

I went drag racing for the first time in my life yesterday in my FR-S. It was my friend's birthday and he wanted me to drag the car for amusement. I had 5 runs. My 2nd and 4th run were my best. However, my best run didn't really get its final time recorded. Comparing the times, my best run was probably in the neighborhood of 14.79, since I was about .155 ahead of my second best run at the 1000' mark, and of course, the difference would be larger at the 1/4mi mark.

I own a Celica Supra

And I'm gonna take my FR-S to PBIR (Moroso) soon as well. I think I can cut a 1.9 60' on stock tires.....Too bad my wheels with the DR's from my Celica won't fit the FR-S :/

Just went back again last night with some friends

Met a pretty cool guy with a turbo'd scion TC that I went up against about three times. Best against him was a 14.727

That's with the greddy intake and exhaust, coilovers and stock tires. Left out my spare tire.

I launched at about 4000K RPM then stayed on the gas like my foot was glued to the ground while shifting.

Hi Guys , I love this thread.

Just a quick question, I own a Toyota 86 (South Africa). When you launch do you leave tc on or off and what about vsc ? I've tried both ways and still get that power loss from the car when it feels you need help controlling the car. Only managed a 16.5 at the coast with low temps and no wait reduction. Shitty track. Killarney Cape Town Not a drag track.

Turn them both fully off if you want a good launch (hold the TC button for 3-5 seconds).

I'd just turn off the traction control & leave it @ that. Turning anything more off won't improve your time.

You don't want something freak to happen, then have the car want to lunge @ the wall. I realize the cars don't make enough power for that really to be a concern, normally--but if there's any unseen fluid on the track & you don't lift in time.........
