Question 2013 fps possible fuel gauge issue

Hello all,

I bought a used 2013 scion frs two days ago. No issues other than the throw out bearing needing a replacement soon. However the dealer said they put $35 worth of gas to fill the tank completely so we could get home. Thing is I only live 45 minutes away from the dealer. By the half way point the gauge showed almost empty. I pulled into a gas station and put $38 worth of gas in the tank and have been driving ever since. The fuel amount has gone down as normal and there is no leaking. Did the dealer lie or is there a possible issue with my gauge?

Why do you say it needs TOB replaced soon?

There's a noticeable grind/vibration sound when in gear as well as it's difficult to throw into gear at times. The noise squeals when the clutch is pressed in.

That needs to be addressed immediately.

I've uploaded a video of the idle. The noise that I'm talking about happens almost at random and it's coming from the transmission area. Other than that, how does the engine sound? https://youtube.com/shorts/a55xoKVzzS0?feature=share

It sounds like there's an exhaust leak just downstream of that header.

Don't worry about the belt tensioner. That's normal.

Thank you so much! I had some suspicions about a vacuum/exhaust leak. I'll go check that out

As far as the fuel gauge, top the tank off and reset the trip odometer. Watch to fuel gauge VS miles driven. Dependent on how you drive you will get anywhere from 40 to 400 miles on a tank.
