An FBO that actually looks like gas station! (They still use trucks to fuel but I just think the canopy is neat).

Hey, I got to go somewhere today besides Walmart -

Yes, I went to Best Buy, to use my gift card from fathers day. I used it to buy another laptop charger for the granddaughters school laptops. Yep, the oldest one "lost" the charger, the other one "forgot" her charger at their house. Therefore, since both laptops were dead, they said they couldn't sign in for school.

So, I "fixed" that by buying another charger for them to charge up their laptops and for pa-pa to keep at our house for "emergencies" -

Shit! I forgot to go to the pharmacy -

I love working until 1 am, and then starting work at 6 am. Love it. And the company I work for isn't even affected.

I got myself a milwaukee impact driver months ago, and I dont really like it. I got the hex drive bc that seemed to be the popular one, but I wish I got it in 3/8. I feel it looses a ton of power having to go through another extension, the more extensions/converters/adapters the more nut busting power lost. I feel like we could be trading advice and such and giving recs.

Also, I have some ratcheting wrenches, a swivel head 3/8 ratchet driver, and some swivel sockets comeing for xmas from my dad, which I'm pretty excited about, and I just like talking about tools.
The hex drives are not really made for working on cars. The M18 surge says it is rated to 450 lb-ft but there is no way. It can't even break lugs loose. The M12 stubby 3/8 works pretty well as does the 3/8 M12 fuel ratchet. I use those two a lot and they are compact.

Extensions and adapters rob torque and it gets worse the more you add. If you can, buy a mix of sizes. Using one long is better then two short ones stuck together. Also get impact rated, they don't deflect as much helping the tool hit harder.

Going back when cordless stuff was new I bought a Snap-On 3/8 12V impact, pretty sure it cost be around 500 and is only good for 45ft/lb

Not car stuff, but I throw things like that in here knowing that there are quite a few of us that work in IT. This has gotten a lot of publicity, though. Wasn't really needed for me to post anything.

if i upgrade, itll be to the gen 3 compact 3/8 m18, its basically the m12 stubby, but fits the m18 batteries

the hex surge sucks. i mean i still use it, but its weak as hell. it sucks having to break every suspension nut/lug loose by hand first

Like I said, the hex drives are not really made for working on cars and loosening they types of fasteners on a car. They deliver much higher impacts per minute which helps drive screws into wood much quicker. The Surge is much faster at driving screws then the previous gen hex impacts that have standard hammer/anvil setups.

If you are already using M18 tools that is a good choice. I have a mix of both so I like to use the M12 as it is more compact and delivers similar power. I really only see the benefit of using cordless in situations where space is a constraint or a hose gets in the way too much, like working under the car.

I actually like using the M18 blower around the shop a lot too. It is convenient and easy to use when you have to clear a tight space. You really need an XC 6.0 or larger battery with it though, it eats through them quick.

As with everything IT, even if you don't personally use X software/tool/platform, it's highly likely at least one software/tool/platform that you do use has that software as a dependency, or so on.

That's how tightly-integrated the Internet is these days.

Amazon AWS Kinesis had a serious outage a couple weeks ago and it was so bad it was causing issues in all sorts of companies, even ones that don't use it. Simply because they use services that are built on or otherwise use Kinesis in some capacity.
