Door edge guards?
Horrible morning today. I just noticed a small scratch on the edge of the driver's door. Nothing too bad and after reading some posts I'm going to opt for the dr color chip solution to fix.
However, I checked the passenger's door and noticed some dirt. I used my thumbnail lightly to take it off and turns out it was another small chip that snapped the paint right off. Again, an easy fix and is somewhere that isn't noticeable at all. My question is this: are there any door edge guard for the BRZ? Or just getting a generic 3rd party a good solution. If anyone has done this already...what kind did you use? Thank you! |

I ordered a 3m ventureshield DIY clear bra from invisiblemask that includes door edge guards. Looks like an EZ install on door edge guards. Use promo code MC10OFF and get 10% off.

Your Subaru dealer should have touch up paint for about $15 BTW.

Thanks. I'll be taking a trip this weekend. Would this be a better solution that getting the dr colorchip? I saw a lot of users are getting that.

I've heard good things about Dr. Color Chip, but I assume that getting paint from Subaru will provide the best match. You still have to get clear and primer if you need it, from somewhere else though.

Universal black for my guards...I limited them to just the area under the fold, where the door is the widest. Against the silica paint it's hard to tell but for the brighter colors you might want the clear.
I second getting the subaru touch-up, there are some dealers on ebay selling cheaper/free ship than locally. The Dr. color stuff is pricy...haven't used it yet but I picked up a spray can of factory match from Auto Touch up (thread here a scion owner use it to fix his bumper, prices reasonable) figured best to have it on hand...jic. |

I think you'd be happier with 3M clear vinyl rather than those black universal ones. It'll be a lot less noticeable and should provide the same protection.

When I had my Clear Bra installed they also did the door edges. Barely noticeable and do a great job. That should be fairly inexpensive to have done.

Bump from the dead. Do all cars leave the factory with the vinyl guard inside the door jam or is dealer installed?
