I use the term "traffic" loosely. The sections of highway with that speed limit are wide expanses of nothing so traffic is very light.

I find it weird that after starting the car the mute button on the volume knob doesn't work for like first 5 seconds.

Seems to be a miss in every modern car I've owned or rented - they focus on having a mute button but not an easy to hit pause button. Would be great if they would make the mute button pause when not listening to live radio.

Perhaps some folks here can shed some light on this "quirky" situation for me.
Driving home yesterday on the highway, I ran into a very nice WRB 1st Gen BRZ. It was quite windy out (probably 60km/h neighbourhood) and for part of the drive it was a crosswind. At highway speeds I was getting tossed around like a leaf, and despite my best efforts, I was wiggling about more than I wanted to be. The guy in the other BRZ was rock solid in the lane ahead of me, completely straight line. Now I won't discount the possibility that my driving skill is somewhat lacking compared to his, but it felt more like a difference between the cars (at least that's what I'm telling myself lol). He had red brake calipers (couldn't see if they were Brembos), and aftermarket wheels (couldn't make out the tires). Could the difference be my garbage Primacys vs something with actual grip? Something in the steering rack different between the Generations? Thoughts?

might need to check the alignment. in my old ranger, i had 1 rear tire with a slow leaking alloy wheel. it would start acting twitchy and all over the road when the tire got about 10 pounds lower than the other 3.

I've consistently found this car very twitchy on the highway, like there is no deadzone in the steering. The WRX is completely different, and far less twitchy. Always found it odd they would be so different... Thanks for the advice!

I find my 2022 BRZ wanders (twitch?) a bit compared to my old 86. The 86 almost seemed too stable in the sense that it seemed there was no power steering at times. Really hugged the road and then some. The BRZ seems like it’s slightly levitated by comparison.

Not arguing but I've been amazed at how stable the brz is on the highway, particularly at high speeds. Zero twitch or lightness. Feels very planted and rock solid.

Yeah, that just makes me think I need an alignment even more. Maybe next week. If it turns out that I've done 6000km with a bad alignment I will feel quite sheepish. However, for 90% of that time I was on aggressive winter tires, which throws the steering feel out the window anyways.
