Premium or Limited (Canadian Sport-tech)

Hello all,

This is my first post on the forum but I have been researching the car for a while and this forum is a great resource.

I have searched for many comparisons between the premium and the limited model and most of the results were from quite a while ago so I would like the opinion of people who have owned them for a while now.

I already put a deposit down for Premium in silver, which is quite rare here. Most of the cars I have seen have been limited or FRSs. I could see why people would get the limited though, on my lease deal (0.9% for 39 months) it would only come out to 35$ a month more, which is quite a deal for everything you get, the money therefore is not a big issue. However, there are things that I like and things that I don't, here's the breakdown:

Likes:
AC controls look much better (main issue, don't care if its dual, purely aesthetic)
Alcantara Seats (The cloth ones aren't bad either though, don't like heated seats)
Security system

Dislikes:
Spoiler (It's my opinion, even in person they ruin the fluidity of the car for me, if I got the limited, I would probably replace it with CARSMO one)
Foglights (Don't think they fit the car that well, makes it look to busy in the front, again my opinion. I have them on my current car and never needed them)

Don't care:
Push button start and keyless (Never really cared for it, but would get used to it if needed)

Both Canadian cars come with heated mirrors included.

Anybody have regrets about purchasing either model?

Thanks!

I got Limited. No regrets.

You should get whichever car YOU like the best. Not the one we tell you is better. We all have different opinions so you'll get 50000000000000000 different answers.

That said congrats on your soon to be purchase.

I like satellite radio, and being controverisal.

We'll teach Miriam Webster the true definition of "limited"!

+1 for skilmo, it's important you like it.

For me I can say the interior is a massive upgrade and being Canadian the heated seats will be nice.

Also for resale, this will be the one people want. Plus if you look at the cost difference, you couldn't buy after market fogs or spoiler for less. Throw in heated seats and the upgraded interior and $ for $ you couldn't get the same options for less..?

My. 02 the climate control aesthetics alone make it worth it.

First car with keyless entry, touch to lock and push to start button........ I think my future cars will have to have these options lol.

Thanks guys, I know that the limited is actually an amazing deal compared to most manufacturer add-ons.

I would like to know if any Premium owners managed to modify the center HVAC console to make it look better? It's really the only thing bothering me.

Paying extra to get stuff you don't want is a bit depressing so that's why I'm leaning towards the Premium.

Are you certain that the Canadian Premium has heated mirrors? I was fairly certain it did not. The Canadian FRS does.

I was really happy with everything extra in the Sport-tech, so the little bit extra was a no brainer for me. Keep in mind well optioned cars typically have more room to negotiate.

It really depends on what type of deal you're getting. I had a great deal with my BRZ Premium and I have no regrets. This is coming from a 2009 Lancer Ralliart with the Recaro Sport package option.

According to the Subaru Canada website and my dealer they do. http://www.subaru.ca/WebPage.aspx?We...2014&CarID=727

Lots of the lower trims in Canada have heated mirrors standard compared to the states.

Congrats! I'm actually switching from an older 2006 Ralliart.

I think I could get a good deal on both Premium and limited. The Premium is 340$ CAD all-in for 39 month lease and the Limited would be around 375$. Subaru lowered the interest rate to 0.9% for 39 months, plus I have a grad discount and dealer discount.

You're correct. I managed to get the website to display 2013 as well. I must have missed it before because I definitely did look for it.

I'm sure I would have been happy with a Premium but based on the comments I've seen on this board it seems many FRS and BRZ folks alike who are not souly focused on racing their BRZ/FRS wished they would have gone with a Limited.

I can't stand the red shoulder pads on the cloth seats and the A/C controls look like they are from the 90's. That's why I chose to upgrade to sport-tech.

I love all the extras it comes with but there are a few things that disappoint me.

The sat-nav isn't very good, but all GPS's I've used have been bad. The touch screen technology is way outdated. Also, the dials on the A/C controls have zero feed-back. It doesn't click when you turn it.
