Best blower option? Kraftwerks?

New to the 86, but this much is clear - this chassis deserves so much better than the stock power plant. LOL

So, I am weighing my options here.
Originally my plan was to buy this car and LS swap it right away, but after driving it for a few days now, I am rethinking that plan, as I am no longer sure, that a V8 is required to make this car fun.

I am thinking that 250-300 whp could be sufficient and from what I have seen, the Kraftwerks kit delivers that.

I saw the "owners only" thread, which obviously I am not going to start questions in. LOL
- So, how happy are people with the kit?
- Is there OFT support for it yet?
- Does the kit include all the parts required (catch can, fuel system, little parts etc.)?

What's most appealing about this solution, is that I could basically turn this thing lose over the weekend if I decide to get the kit, versus the way more elaborate swap...

Any input is welcomed!

I just got my car back yesterday after the KW install. I'm very very happy with the kit. If you read through the owners thread, the kit had had its fair share of growing pains but my installer had no problems to report other than the problems I introduced with my revworks catchcan and not specifying my transmission type. The kit does not come with fuel system upgrades or a catch can.

I love that the car is easy to put around town and that the power is there at the top of the rev range if I suddenly need to pass people.

Research each kit and decide for your own what the best option will be.

KW owners will say to go with KW, Innovate owners will say to go with Innovate, Vortech owners will say to go with Vortech...Jr owners will say...you get my point.

I think they all have their positives and negatives...its up to you to decide which kit best fits what you are looking for.

That said, i'm completely satisfied with my innovate kit. Then again, i'm running the smaller pulley, intercooler, and flex fuel. 93 is great too. I think its the perfect amount of power to make this car fun as hell to drive. I was also looking at the KW kit but it wasn't released yet at that point or it would have been a very good contender against the Innovate (for me).

I've been through the power hungry stage already with my old car...so having crazy numbers didn't matter to me.

So what else is required besides the 4300 $ kit?

I am not super power hungry either, I too have other toys to satisfy that.
My goal is just to have a fun, responsive little drift car that can break 17s loose in 3rd. Keep in mind that I am currently operating this thing at 10k feet plus, so NA sucks... Or more precisely - doesn't. haha

Most people that i talked to recommended a catchcan and an oil cooler with any FI kit.

The tune from KW isn't bad, but a custom tune would probably be the best recommendation I can think of.

Custom tune in MX is a big HAHA. lol
Hence my question if there is OFT support.

So the fuel system can handle 250 whp on pump gas?

check if the group-buy is still going (can contact fteightysix). and so and you've got the money - then standard kit without tuning is just $3500 and bigger blower kit (c38) is $3800.
the kit without tune though doesn't have a MAP sensor - that is required.
the catch-cans is rather good to have (check saikou michi)
fuel upgrades like injectors and pump may be required for c38 - contact your tuner.
oil cooler is good to have, that would have to be Kraftwerks' kit.
wbo2 sensor is good to have - ask your tuner (may need to buy an aftermarket catless header for that)

PS no OFT support and probably won't be for a while if at all

DANG! 3500??? Sign me up. haha

I'll continue reading, but looks like I need the kit with tune, header + full exhaust and a catch can setup as well as an oil cooler.

Starting to get kinda giddy about this. hehe

I believe the DIT Forrester oil cooler fits with the system, I believe someone in the Owners thread is running it. That's all I know about it.

Remote tuning might be a decent option for you. Delicious tuning has a tune for the the kit.

I don't know of any EL headers that fit the kit, I had read JDL was considering making some. I prefer UEL myself.

As far as the fueling system holding up... Looks like it is, but a tuner can answer that better.

Ive been happily using the kw kit on the small blower purchased from fteightysix since january.

First with the kit tune. And now with a seperately sold delicious tune. The purchased seperately tune is a nice improvement.

Im using a homemade catch can and an 08+ sti oem oil cooler and bolt fed by lines spliced into the radiator hoses.

Have had no real issues and the power is plenty adequate for my needs.

Hm, just learned that there's an OFT 300 kit that comes with the tuner...

Honestly, there are som any FI options, it's confusing as FUCK!

Is there a write up somewhere that compares them?
Like a pro / con list?

Drift office did a bunch of 3rd party testing and write ups. They even did a supercharger shootout somewhere, either Facebook or on the forums. If I wasn't on my phone I'd look it up for ya.

I just did some googling and came up with nothing.
Found their WK videos and some goofy e-blower (ghay...).
No comparison. If you could share the link at some point, I'd appreciate it!!!
