Oh no not you Tcoat!

It's coming, It's alreadys onsale in Japan & england.
The Euro spec aka left hand drive one will debut next month at Geneva, subaru designed this at the same time with current gen WRX/Sti with Legecy body. Knowing how subaru is, it will take them a while to get the production line ready, but I don't think there is much stoping them. Hope is high on this one.

For a family of 4, I don't think a Sienna is necessary. My family (5) had a 2006 Sienna and only put 22,000 miles on it in 5 years. We used it for long driving but it was so impractical for short trips like to the mall especially when only going alone or with one other person.

But if you really want a family hauler, the 2015 Highlander is another alternative. It gets 2mpg city over the Sienna's 18. It allows Seating for 8 (LE model) and is probably more enjoyable to drive than a non-SE Sienna. Overtime I think you'll be more Satisfied with the Highlander. I recommend test driving both of you really can't make up your mind. But test drive the Highlander first, & if you like it, don't bother testing out the Sienna to save time and maybe save the salesman a little more time. They'll appreciate that and give you a good deal

Get a 5 door VW Golf. They're now turbocharged like their older brother (GTI).

Not haten' man!
Just wondered. There are 100s of vehicles overseas that never make it here I am afraid.

A 15 month old means 2 years ago his(or her) family went +1, before (s)he even posted on here. This is not a surprise situation for OP but rather something they have had literally years to think about. It's obvious (to me) this is the kind of person who is much more satisfied going with their gut and who's time would be much better spent reading comparison tests and seeing the cars in person than polling fanbois on an enthusiast site in order to get quality carbuying advice.

I fully expect a post in a year "halp, can't fit two strollers in my WRX, should I buy an Acura MDX or Ford Raptor?"

And your 'artefacts' are not helpful, comments on handling dynamics and transmissions that can't handle more power are of low consequence to a person mostly concerned with taking Johnny and Jane to the park in the afternoon while saving up for their college education.
they are helpful if you consider the whole reason for buying a WRX over the base impreza. Is that not helpful to save the guy the headache of buying a "sports sedan" that is terribly outclassed by the immediate early and later revisions? The WRX 5mts BREAK all the time, even at stock power levels. It's a consequence of their design- How do I know? I've rebuilt one, and installed 3 5mts, two of them in my own wrx, within 6 years. My current 5mt is the RA cryo gearset with straight cut 1-3, and even then, I am nervous.

Just think a little more on calling out whether or not something is helpful, because one should always take into consideration the holistic picture of the system, not just select features that are "attractive" to their lifestyle and life trajectory.

Then the family grows +2 more and they should have bought a Sienna.

Then the kids love camping, the Rogue becomes a better option with the ground clearance and storage.

It's great that you want to feel important and knowledgeable, that's why half us fuckwads are here, BUT the OP has some fundamental questions about his intentions before seriously considering the details you think are the deciding factor between a mini-van and a car that can go 0-60 in 4.4 seconds.

I don't need to come here to feel important or "knowledgeable" (I prefer to learn, rather than 'know', in this day and age). Genuinely trying to help the guy the only way I am comfortable with advising, and that is wrxes. All his other considerations I don't know about, or feel inclined to learn about, so I don't post about them.

Seriously don't know what your problem is strat.. you're always such a crasshole

There comes a time in everybody's (well most people's) life where they have to put away their toys and be all practical and grown up.
The good news is that eventually kids also grow up and move out and we can go back to our toys.
The even better news is that the toys are usually far superior to the ones we put away 20 or more years ago!
I am so glad I get to play with my toys again!!!!!!!!

IDK you're the one who started the conversation, I honestly didn't even read your post in this thread before you quoted me.

I disagree, kids can get in karts at 5 years old.

Well you can't show them left foot braking in a Sienna

Well at least, not in a useful manner...

Actually you can, that was a terrible example, let's go with countersteering a drift.
