oil on dipstick but not on hole

So oil shows on one side of dipstick and not other. Also nothing showing in either hole. I checked about 1000 mile ago it was about half way between holes and there was oil fillinf bottom hole but not top.

Dont see leaks and the miles were highway cruising

Are you checking on a perfectly level surface? The car has problems getting a good reading on a slope.

There is info somewhere on whether the high side or low side is your level. Might even be in the owners manual. I have noticed mine uses some oil and there is no leak etc.
