My carry permit got me out of a ticket!
I was zipping along Browns bridge rd in Gainesville Ga. Taking my daughter for a late night meal at the new Denny's. I was moving quicker than I should and got pulled over by the Hall County Sherif deputy. He asked if I was carrying any guns, and I was. But I didn't want to rock the boat and I was hoping if I was nice and cooperative it may convince him to be lenient on me. So I answered yes. He asked where it was. I said on my belt in the holster. I supplied him my Gerogia weapons carry license along with my drivers license. He joking said you not going to shoot me or nothing. I said of course not. He said I figured you were carrying cause of the ga carry sticker on your car.....I'll be right back.
He left to go run my drivers license, and was gone for a very long time. He was doing all sorts of weird stuff back in his car, leaning over, opening all the doors, climbing all over his car with his flashlight. After 20+ min of this he came up to my car and said can you step out of the car and talk to me for a min. I think "ohh boy, here we go. It's going to be one of those stops!". I was wrong, he said I'm very sorry to tell you this but I have lost your carry license. I'm going to void the ticket for the inconvenience. This has never happened to me before. If you give me your cell number ill call you as soon as I find it. 25 min later I'm at Denny's enjoying my hobbit breakfast and my phone rings. It's the deputy " I found your permit, it fell inside my dash console. Had to tear apart my dash to get to it. I'll deliver it to your house and put it in the mailbox for you, sorry for the inconvenience again." Sorry for typos, I'm typing this on my iPhone in a booth at Denny's. |

WIN!
One of the best stories i've ever heard of a cop interacting with a normal citizen who owns a firearm. I've had all kinds of dumb shit happen to me when i used to carry a lot in AZ. |

Poor guy was probably so pissed and embarrassed lol good for you though!!! I never take the permit though? I can't do anything with it...
