I've had several issues with my windows as well. The drivers side window often does not go back up after the door is closed (after the automatic drop), and I continuously lose control of the passenger window from the drivers' side controls.

The issues stop after I do the reset with the switches, but keep coming back after about a week.

not the coldest day yet, but had frozen condensation on my window and it mucked it up...

Just last night I got a buddy that's new to the BRZ game text me about his window, so I said, "Can I call you?" Then I proceeded to explain the process to him. I let him know he's going to get good at doing it quickly.

The only time it wouldn't happen to me is if I washed the car and brought it directly to my job's warehouse to completely dry out.

The replacement for the "master switch" is on order through Subaru Canada but it has no ETA yet. Anybody else waiting on parts?

Uh, dude, you don't need any parts to fix this, you just put the window all the way down, and keep pressing down for 3-5 seconds after the window is completely down, then put it back up and keep holding up for 3-5 seconds, if that's whats going on.

God dammit. I actually went to the dealership to have the window issue fixed only to find out now that I could have just reset it myself. FML. The mechanic told me it's not under warranty so I have to pay for an hour's work which comes out to $100. How the hell did it take him 1 hour to reset the window? GTFO here. This is bull. I looked up this issue in this forum about a month ago but I couldn't find this thread. I should have looked harder. Dammit. Expensive lesson for me.

Mechanic charged you $100, pocketed the money himself, filed paper to Subaru to cover under warranty, reset the window in 5 seconds, went out to buy cigarettes, had a one hour smoke break, hand over the car to you. Mechanic win.

That sucks! Note to everyone (including myself) ALWAYS CHECK THE OWNERS MANUAL It explains how to deal with SOME issues, including the window reset.

I know this doesn't solve the problem but what I have done as an ounce of prevention, is if there is a chance of it freezing when I wash the car is to have a roll of clear hockey tape that I use to cover the felt strip to stop it from getting soaking wet. After I have rinsed it down I just pull the tape off the window glass and throw it a way. What I missed with the wash is easily cleaned up with a damp miro towel.

Bumper to bumper warranty should have covered it. You can call Subaru Canada to file a compliant and get your $100 bucks back like I did when the Willowdale Subaru failed to give me proper user manuals for the car, and I spent $102 bucks on eBay to get them (Subaru Canada actually gave me only $94 bucks back I'm not sure why they have to short change me $7 bucks but whatever).

Yeah, so I got pretty lucky in the end cuz I found the TSB and brought it to the mechanic's attention the next day (my car had to stay overnight since it was the end of the day). What annoys me though is that when I mentioned it to him, it sounded like he already knew about it yet initially wanted to screw me over and charge me the $100. What garbage. Whatever, no more window issues at least.

Brought my BRZ in to get a leaking taillight gasket fixed. Showed them the American TSB for freezing windows, and they've ordered in the parts for it, hopefully it will finally fix this annoying issue! There is a separate TSB number for Canada, but they were able to look it up for me.
