Engine was installed on Sunday, runs great! Currently have a cheapy oil filter and oil in it along with a magnetic drain plug, will drive it about 50 miles and then drain it, install a Subaru OEM filter and new oil. This will be to flush any debris that I may have missed during the rebuild.

Engine #2 has been disassembled down to the bare long-block. Early indication is that this is just another lost bearing....likely #2 or #3 rod....

Got around to tearing Engine #2 down completely on Sunday, water in the oil does not make for good lubrication....and causes some different damage. As suspected/usual rod bearing #3 was literally just washed out, also the water washed the teflon coating off all of the pistons and rusted the rings. Good news, no scoring on the cams or carriers. Pickup was clean

Parts have been ordered to repair;
Crankshaft
Pistons (4)
Ring set
ACL Main Bearings
ACL Rod Bearings
Connecting rods (2)
Misc gaskets, seals, orings, etc...

Going to hone the bores, disassemble, clean and oil everything then reassemble once the parts arrive.

It did not, spun freely when I got it. Quite honestly it looks like someone added water to the oil....insurance scam?

Jeesus, I think the tech that did the valve spring recall on this motor used several tubes of RTV....and forgot to install the right side oil spacer that keeps the oil slung off the cams from aerating....maybe why there was so much oil foam in this engine....

New crank & rod bearings, new pistons, rings, 2 connecting rods installed....just waiting on the oil spacer to come in in order to complete the right cam carrier....
