Do you know if this unit provides guide lines for rear camera and if you can turn them off?
Stock camera already have them, so this will make a mess...

Yes you can turn off the parking guidelines on the DDX917WS and I would imagine it's the same on the DDX918WS as well. I had the exact same thought when I first started it up and had a bunch of overlapping lines.

I just discovered that the 86 misses the Bluetooth steering wheels keys that BRZ has. Do these keys work with DDX917/18?

Just to clarify your question, are you asking if the stock 2017+ BRZ steering wheel controls can be programmed to work with the DDX917WS? If so, then yes they are easily programmed through the headunit.

I see that some versions of the 86 have quite limited steering wheel controls, and they are not even buttons but just placeholders (can't press them). Now I'm curious if you would be able to swap in that part from the BRZ and gain use of these controls...

Yup, that’s exactly what I’m asking... I’m planning to buy the BRZ buttons, if the plug is the same they should work flawlessly...

Hope it works for you. If it does, definitely post here so people know it's possible to make the swap!

Grab a 12v-6v voltage dropper and hard wire it in, it's what I did and it works great now. Bonus being that I can then change the headset to reverse camera display at anytime.

This is the one I used; i'm sure you can find something similiar in Dublin https://www.jaycar.com.au/dc-to-dc-s...odule/p/AA0237

Which wires did you splice to hard wire it in?

Guys, urgent please: which bracket did you use to fit the DDX? TAS400 ones seem not correct...

From memory off of 12v accessory power. You don't want to do it off 12v constant, as it will drain your battery. You will need to test to confirm.

I run the matching dashcam for the unit, which also required hard wiring both accessory and constant, so I just piggy backed off the wiring I did for that.
