NorCal (Bay Area) AutoX Thread!

That has nothing to do with how powerful they are in STX prep. I have no power mods at all. Period. Stock air box. Going against cars with full bolt-ons/tune is tough.

Also when do you do freeway pulls at 30-55pm where most if autoX acceleration happens. FRS and low end torque are like Russia and civil foreign policy. But whatever, apples and oranges are the same thing.

You never know. It could happen, but I'm feeling the same way about the tour. Since the tour will count for points for our region as well, I'm just hoping to do well against the SFR people.

I've never been to an autocross event before, but I'd like to check one out before I get behind the wheel. Do events charge an entrance fee for everyone, or only for those who are driving?

Just drivers. After a while it's just not that fun to watch.

But if you can drive in Bay Area traffic you can handle this; someone will talk you through what you need to know in about two minutes.

Erik, you did great!

Justin in the 370 will be your bogey, I think. Fresh RS3s and some confidence make a big difference.

Thanks for letting me borrow the psi gauge! On the second slalom I was hitting the rev limiter even before the 2nd to last apex cone. Damn Corvettes top out at almost 90 in 2nd, lucky.

The timer gate at the end was tricky. I was told to accelerate until I passed it up.

It was my first autocross ever, and I'm addicted now. A more experienced driver sat with me on my first run. He gave me some tips, which helped a lot.

@unsurety, it's good to hear you're hooked. I suggest checking out some of the other groups. You'll find the level of competition will vary between the different groups. Of course, you'll see multiple people who drive with quite a few of the autox groups.
