IMO the new interior is a tremendous improvement, and feels much better than the 2016 model. The stitched padding is lovely, and goes nicely woth the soft-touch dashboard plastic. Even the faux-carbon (yes, the climate control panel does have glossy faux-carbon) looks much nicer than the textured plastic that used to be there. Feels much more like a sports car now. Biggest surprise was that the red looks incredible in person, and goes really nicely with the black and red interior. I still wouldn't be brave enough to do red, but if you like red cars you will not regret it.

Lol, "feels much more like a sports car" and because of some tacky interior change.

Lol, I waited 5 months for my 2016. Ordered in November, got it in April.

You're lucky as hell.

So...swung by the dealership this morning to pick her up. Still waiting on STi wheels and other parts to arrive. Looks like I won't have it til Tuesday due to the holiday...sigh. But man! That car is gorgeous in white and black spoiler. I saw the rear quarter panel and diffuser installed and it just looks like a perfect contrast of black and white mixed with the red tail lights. I felt the steering wheel and the cabin and to me I'm not bothered by any of the discrepancies mentioned by some here. In fact I felt it was either on par with my '15 STi if not better. At least it's here nonetheless and soon I can take her home, still ahead of my original ETA of 9/8.

I know, right? Unfortunately I couldn't drive it so I can't say anything about driving dynamics. Personally it did feel like they at least put some thought into the cabin this time.

Is anyone else checking this thread daily hoping to see that the ordering for the Performance Package has opened or is it just me.

I wouldn't have been able to wait for the performance package. I might buy the parts once it is released and do the work myself to get it upgraded though.

Well just make sure they didn't ship the Sachs performance package shocks out of Korea using Hanjin.

I'm not really a fan of the PP wheels so..... Yeah lolol
And I'm definitely not in some skill level to utilize the full potential of the brembo, good for anyone that can and is willing but it's not for me. The 31-32k OTD if you get invoice is also kinda not something I can afford. Grats to the people waiting you have a timeframe now !

This, I'm probably going to order a normal limited this weekend. Functionally I have no use for the upgrades in the PP but Im drooling over the ricer red calipers haha.

Well I recently joined a car group and apparently I'm gonna have some skilled drivers help me learn some advanced techniques and I might be entering in the stock category for autocross. If I upgrade using all of the pieces of the performance package it would still count as stock and give me an advantage But, I've got a little while to go before that happens.
