**S2000 Addendum**
Discussion is being held for a cross-over event with the AP1/AP2 chassis. Currently, the belief is that the S2000 platform performs at a level "one class higher" than the FRS/BRZ/AE86.

86CUP CLASSES

Stock Class - 0.5 points maximum
The purpose of this class is to keep costs to a minimum and be attractive to a drivers with stock or minimally modified vehicles. Drivers of all experience levels are welcome, and tires are restricted to TW 140+ and no larger than 225 width.

Certain modifications are not allowed in Stock class:
- No Level 2 Front Aero
- No Level 1+ Rear Aero
- No Level 1+ Rear Wing
- No light-weight aftermarket parts, no aftermarket body panels, or any interior removal (unless necessary for safety equipment).
- No forced induction

Street Class - 4.0 points maximum
The purpose of this class is to allow moderate modifications to a primarily street-driven car. Drivers/owners are granted flexibility in choosing different modifications, while competing in an even playing field. Street class cars typically feature one of three major areas of modifications: aerodynamics, forced induction, or substantially increased mechanical grip. 2850lbs is the minimum weight for Street class with driver and FULL tank of gas.

Modified Class – 7.0 points maximum
Modified class cars are expected to have several dedicated performance modifications. Cars in this class will typically have two of the three major areas of modifications: aerodynamics, forced induction, and mechanical grip, and are usually readily identifiable as a track driven car. 2750lbs is the minimum weight with driver and FULL tank of gas for the Modified class.

Unlimited - no maximum
Minimum weight for Unlimited is 2700 pounds with driver and full tank of gas. Who knows what you may see in this class... anything goes!

WEIGHING

Rules
Each class has a minimum weight: at any point during the day, a competitor with driver inside must meet that minimum weight. If and when a competitor is found to be below minimum weight, he will be penalized 1 second for every 25 pounds he is under the minimum weight. If this is the competitor’s first violation, the first 25 pounds will be allowed as leeway (for possible scale-to-scale variation), but he will be penalized for any further discrepancy. Also, if this is the first violation, he may choose to forfeit all laptimes he has accrued until the weighing process, add back weight to his car to meet minimum weight, and re-start new timed laps instead of taking a lap-time penalty. Any repeat violations will automatically incur the lap time plenty as outlined above.

Weighing Protocol
One competitor from each group (Street and Modified) may be selected at random to be weighed at any time during the day. The probability of being weighed is directly proportional to the number of points he has accrued throughout the season (for example, this is equivalent to adding one’s name in a hat once for every point he scores, then drawing from that hat at random). That means top drivers have the highest likelihood of being weighed, and drivers who have yet to score points will never be weighed.

Weighing Logistics
Two drivers from each class may volunteer or will be randomly selected to participate in the weighing process. Only drivers from a different class may weigh one class (to create impartiality). For example, if a Stock class participant is being weighed, only the two drivers from Street and two drivers from Modified may assist in the weighing process. All who participate in the S2KC implicitly agree to help with the weighing process if called upon, barring any extenuating circumstances.

PROTEST PROTOCOL
A competitor may also be spot-weighed if two peers (or at least half of the participants of that day, whichever is less) from the same class believe the competitor to be in violation of minimum weight. That competitor will be liable to be weighed on the spot. In addition, if a competitor suspects another is underrepresenting his points, he may bring his concern to a member of the 86CUP board immediately, so that a board member can audit the car at that point, and compare the setup to that declared on the signup sheet. If a participant fails the audit, he can choose to: 1) correct the violation and forfeit all a previous laps and redo timed laps for any remaining sessions; or 2) take a 1 second penalty for every 0.25 points he is over the limit.

Prizes/Points
Prizes at individual events for each class will be awarded regardless of number of competitors in the class.
Year-end prize winners need to have participated in atleast 6 events. Unclaimed prizes and prizes without a winner will be thrown into a raffle pool to be raffled to participants at the end of the year. One raffle entry will be issued to every FRS/BRZ owner who attends the season finale, even if they do not participate in any 86CUP events.

The best 8 finishes of the 13 events will count toward the championship for each class. In the event of a tie, the participant with more 1st place finishes will be awarded the championship. In the event of a tie after the first tie-breaker parameter, the participant with more attendance will be awarded the championship. If there is still a tie after the second tie-breaker parameter, the participant with the faster time at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca event will be awarded the win.

1st - 10 points
2nd - 7 points
3rd - 5 points
4th - 4 points
5th - 3 points
6th - 2 points
7th+ - 1 point

***The Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca event will be worth double points toward the championship***

2015 86CUP Schedule

**any changes will have as much notice as possible**
8 out of 13 events will count toward year end results, with double points for the 5/23 Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca event.

*edit 1/6/2015*
added clarification on TRD/STi lips/spoilers/gurney

*edit 1/20/2015*
edited stock/street class names to be "GT Radial Stock Class" and "GT Radial Street Class"

*edit 1/23/2015*
Separated out bottom end and top end work under engine internal modifications. Bottom end mods are now separate from top end mods (as it was before). This allows for the AE86 with an alternative 4AG to be competitive. Additionally, a built engine is now worth 2 points (via the two separate 1.0 point values).

*edit* 3/11/2015*
Updated schedule

*edit* 7/21/2015*
Added RE71R and Rival-S tire points

Please welcome our newest Title sponsor for the 86CUP, Cusco USA! Cusco will be offering a racer discount program for active participants, and providing some incredible end-of-year prizes.
Cusco is a manufacturer of street-legal and racing products including coil-over suspension kits, suspension components, Limited Slip Differential(LSD), Clutch system and body/suspension add-on parts such as strut/under braces and roll cages.

Please welcome the first of our two Title sponsors for 2015, Winmax brake pads. Winmax is now the title sponsor for the 2nd consecutive year, and will be the 86CUP with 20 sets of W1 brake pads. Participants that win a set of brake pads may elect to upgrade to any compound in the Winmax lineup for just the different in price from the W1 to their chosen compound (it's like a 50% discount on the race pads!)

Please welcome GT Radial to the 86CUP presented by Cusco-Winmax. GT Radial will be offering a highly aggressive contingency program that allows 86CUP participants to win free tires! Additionally, GT Radial is now the class sponsor for the Stock and Street classes. We request that you now refer to the Stock class as the "GT Radial Stock class" and the Street class as the "GT Radial Street class".
GT Radial's generous contingency program is one of the most effective ways of reducing the cost of tracking your car and competing in the 86CUP.
Participants can be eligible by following the following guidelines:
- Run two GT Radial stickers OR a GT Radial windshield banner at the 86CUP events (stickers will be supplied by GT Radial)
- Have the GT Radial Champiro SX2 on all 4 corners at the track
**GT Radial understands that most 86CUP Participants already have tires that they have purchased for 2015, or left-over tires from 2014. As such, they will only require you to be running their stickers to qualify at the first three events of 2015!
- TWO (2) GT Radial SX2 will be awarded when participants accumulate enough season championship points to hit the following milestones:
-- 8 points, 15, points, 25 points, 40 points
- Although only 8 events count toward the season championship, all 13 events count toward the contingency program!
- Each participant can win a maximum of 8 tires (two sets) through the contingency program!
- Participants in ALL classes may participate in the GT Radial contingency program!
*** GT Radial will also be providing an ADDITIONAL TWO (2) Champiro SX2 tires to the top three participants in the GT Radial Stock class, and the GT Radial Street class after the first three events, so make sure you don't miss any events to get additional free tires!
The 86CUP presented by Cusco-Winmax board hopes that you find this program valuable! Please let us know if you believe this program is beneficial to you.
Also, if you see our sponsors at an event, please stop by and say thank you to them for supporting the 86CUP!

We have three different event organizers that are on our schedule this year

www.extremespeedtrackevents.com
www.speedventures.com
www.ncracing.org

At the actual event, you'll want to fill out a tech form to class your car (ask anyone who's attended in the past to help if you have questions! It's super easy), and make sure you have timing.

Any chance this thread can be duplicated in the California subforums? Some members who want to participate in events like this might not be seeing the details here...
