gopro sticky mount onto the panel under the steering wheel. Great view, but it failed on me after I hit a burm pretty hard. The camera fell down into the wheel well, which was a dangerous situation. Luckily I was able to grab the camera, throw it into the glove box, and continue driving. Then I switched to the wheel view and was able to capture the glowing rotor

It's crazy how much better the new Gopro is at dealing with light. Comparing your video to mine, with the same view, there's a big difference. Thankfully Xmas is soon haha.

Also, when you passed that integra, I have video of it from my view (not on YouTube) and when you shift into 4th there's a puff of smoke out the exhaust. Just one of those funny things I noticed when watching my footage

Yeah, amazing how much better it is compared to my HD Hero 1, plus all the added features make it worth the extra $ (love being able to check the view+control via smart phone). Should have had it face back for one of the runs you were behind me, bet it would have been cool angles of you. Would love to get a copy of that footage of me some time.

OK, video is uploaded. Brakes start glowing after 4:40 when the fast laps start. Footwell view starts at 8:36.

For a second there I thought there was no audio and I was wondering what was going on, then I heard audio coming from the earbud that I didn't have in my ear. Ah now it makes sense

I've had the same problem from using an external mic with my gopro. Is there a way to split the mono audio into stereo?

Not sure, good question. I've never taken GoPro footage with an external mic.. what do you hook the mic up to? Just drill a hole in the casing and hook it up via the audio-in jack?

Yep. A buddy did exactly that and bought a spare housing from ebay and drilled a hole for the audio-in jack (I had a hero 1, which did not have an audio jack). With the hero 3, which uses a mini-usb adapter for the mic, I ended up just getting a skeleton case, as doborder mentioned, with the cut-outs on the side (only for sunny days with 0% chance of rain ).

I'd be down, I'm just not sure what the weather will be like at this time of year though. Don't really want to go out there if it's raining. Then again, maybe it will be a good learning experience.
