I believe stock is the only option, I can't find anyone that makes a synchro upgrade kit or anything. I was hoping that Jacks transmission was going to offer one at some point but im not sure.

Hey peeps, how are these gearsets going? Any issues after extended use etc?

I'm looking at doing a big build on mine and will probably blow a box. If anyone has a set they didn't end up needing I may take them off your hands ;D

I haven't heard of anyone having any issues yet. Still runs like the day I had them installed. I will update once I get my car back from fullblown.

Is there a list of additional parts needed to rebuild a transmission using the PAR engineering gear-set?

I don't know if there is a list out there, you could always ask Verus what parts they replace when they open them up for their gear set. Unless your trans was trashed from the get go I don't think there is too much, however I would recommend ordering a set of carbon synchros from Verus Engineering if they still have them to replace at the same time. They weren't available when I did mine, and I wish I had. I don't have synchro issues and they are still my original ones from before the gear set. Just wish I had them for the peace of mind. Just keep up on your trans oil changes and the gear set should last you a long time if you decide to do it.

Thank you for your advice.
Btw, I did call Verus hoping that they still work on the billet transmission but unfortunately they put that project on hold.

Same here. Just contacted them a week ago on wanting that gearset. Kind of a shame they stopped producing it. It really captures a nice niche for people not wanting to spend a fortune on a whole gearset.

Decided on going with PAR 1st through 5th now as a substitute. Its very cost competitive with Verus's 3rd-4th imo. 3000.00 for VERUS and around 4250.00 (not including shipping).

So did I.
I'm just a little concerned about the whining part - not because I'd personally care - but it is still a road legal car and needs to pass inspection.

This would be an alternative, but the gearing ratio spread is too wide, it's heavier, requires a new clutch and some welding: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3000925
