Is there a list of ecutek master tuners? Im aware of the list of vendors on pg1 but are they the only people who can tune with ecutek? Im trying to find one in the Syracuse ny area but ive had no luck.

What is the process of tuning? Lets say i buy ecutek (any reccomendations as far as dealers goes?) what do i do then? Since it is going to alter the stock ECU is this going to be a problem as far as warranty goes? Can i go back to stock ECU if i choose to do so vice versa back to tuned ECU?

And for the stages, Stage 1 exhaust and intake
Stage 2???(what mods recommened before stage 2)
stage 3???

Thank you i just need some clarity to how i will start my build.

I think stage 2 is exhaust and intake. Stage 2 is what I'm going for, but I still don't know what tune to get. If anyone can help me out. So far I have a Ingen cold air intake and Invidia N1 catback. I want a tune that will give me a bang for my buck. Something not to expensive and that will show results. Also, I don't know if I will be able to tune the car myself, so where would I tune it? Looking to run on 91 Octane. By the way, it is AT transmission. I'm still deciding on buying headers...Borla maybe. Thanks.

Updated the FAQ with a few points, will work on the additional questions. Feel free to chime in. I know a little, but I'm not a tuning expert.

It's similar to a software license for running MS Office on your home computer. You have to pay a licensing fee to run the EcuTek software ROM on your ECU. So the tuner then charges a tuning fee for the map that they have built that works with the EcuTek ROM. That's probably the biggest disadvantage of EcuTek. It's a proprietary software so the cost is higher than an open source solution. BRZedit seems to have a cheaper licensing model (although very limited tuner support) and Unichip doesn't have a licensing fee although you have to buy their hardware.

Alright, I populated as much as I could. It should be a good start.

I welcome any feedback!

If I missed anyone who is a tuner, please let me know.

Also - If you have a customer review, please post and I'll add to the review post.

I'm not sure if anyone can answer this question, but this surely is the place to find out.

With an EcuTek RaceRom tune, can you still use a OBD2 reader to extract real time data? I want to monitor boost/afr, and don't want to buy gauges.

From what I've seen you can. You just have to reflash the ecu via the OBD2 port but then the cable comes out. I know people plug it back in to do data logging which suggests to me you could alternatively use it to monitor real-time data (as it's being fed). I'm 95% sure you can but anyone running EcuTek, please chime in.

Great, thank you. I have been running it fine without a tune, I will update once I receive a tune from Mr. Visconti.
