I didn't notice any loss in miles per gallon, but I've always had around 17-19MPG avg (NYC traffic sucks).

You'd probably notice it more if you have nice long cruises without traffic on a regular basis.

Don't worry about the extra fuel cost. The difference between what you were getting and what you might be getting now is nothing compared to the vehicle's depreciation you're incurring.

that is so true! haha
depreciation is a given factor that i knew going in
at least fuel consumption in a non race track environment is a variable factor that I can somewhat manage...
may be i should get a prius as daily..

but yes youre right..it is a 86 chassis .. these things are meant to be enjoyed.
gotta pay to play

My apartment has a downhill with a speed bump before going into the parking, that and other areas is making me consider Air lift suspension with 245's as they are the same as stock and stock can fit 245.

Edit: may be irrelevant to thread so no reply needed lol.

Edit: i found out about air cups and will be getting them because I didn't care about slamming the car anyway

well it depends on your rim width.

you can have the flush meaty look with a 245/40 if you have the right offset.

also a good 245 will have better traction than a shit 265.

its not all about the raw width when it comes to this topic. Your alignment also has a good amount to do with it

Awesome. I decided on 255/35 Nitto Invo. With air cups from stanceparts.com to lift the suspension with coilovers when needed.

I have the same 255/35/18 nitto invos. The only thing to be careful of is some of the wider nitto invo tires don't run true and make it feel like you have a buckled wheel. I had to swap out some under warranty. They ran so badly the tire place was struggling to balance the wheels. Replacement ones were fine.

The narrower ones don't seem to have the same issue.

Love them though as great street and track combo tire.

Are you happy with replacements? What other tyres have you had beforehand?

Thanks.

Yep, replacements were fine and they are great tires.

Was just warning you that if you had shuddering that seemed like a buckled wheel to check. The guy balancing should be able to tell if any issues so ask him to tell you if tires arent runnng true.

I've had on my 86
Michelin Pilot Sport
Nitto Invo
Nitto NT01
Bridgestone RE003

Currently running Nitto Invo 255/35/18 on my 9" track wheels and Bridgestone RE003 265/35/18 on my 9.5" show/street wheels.

Awesome. I almost got MPSS if it wasn't for unavailability of 255/35. How did you find them compared to invo?

I had Michelin Pilot Sport 3 not MPSS so can't come to new them.

Love the INVOs and the Bridgestone RE003 are excellent too.
