Weird HID reflection?

Just got my FRS and decided to do HID install. Got DDM tuning kit 35w h11 6000k. Installed it in the afternoon and took it out for a spin in the evening to check it out. Everything seems fine and no one flashed me while on the road. As I parked the car I notice the two halo looking reflection on my gargage door? I couldnt figure out why thats happening. Any suggest or idea as to why am I getting these halo/reflection?

Mine only did that when I pull up against a wall. But I don't think it does it anymore.

they are caused because you are using HIDs in a non HID projector.

you can actually correct a lot of this if you open up the projector and modding the "squirrel finder" bit. I recommend you google it if you are interested.

Those are your squirrel finders reflecting light, take out the HID bulbs and stick your finger into the housing and you should find these metal plates and just push them down as much as you can til it bottoms out and it should eliminate them. If not those areas will glare at other people.

This is why you never put HID's in headlights that weren't designed for them. You're going to blind and piss everyone off no matter how hard to pull on the squirrel finders. I absolutely hate that people do this.

This is an example of people making comments just because the have a certain mod and you dont. That little glare will not blind anyone. The HIDs are actually leveled really good in the stock projectors. You can eliminate the glare by bending down the squirrel finders but is it really necessary. NO! But you can always do a retrofit which is so much cooler lol jk. dont worry about it they look fine and I have tested them they are not blinding by any means.

I wouldn't say they are fine... but would not consider them blinding either.

Drove in front of a FRS with HIDs in stock housing and at certain angles and bumps and stuff they are "distracting" but I would not call them blinding tho I think that could change depending of light spectrum maybe

Well blame Scion for not having HID option lol. I did this and bent down the squirrel finders and I checked for glares and they were all pretty much eliminated but a tiny spec of it does pretty much nothing to blind. When I drove past people the cutoff was under their mirrors as well. I mean of course cut off isn't perfect, but its decent and probably only sometimes it will be distracting when that imperfection hits, but its not too bad.

So I try not to blind people, but people tho do this and is obnoxious with their cutoffs... thats a different story

OHHH squirrel finder!! I forgot about those and since the forum doesnt have a lot of topic on bending these stuff down I totally forgot about it. Gonna bend them down right now. And yea, blame Scion/Toyota for not having that option, i would gladly pay for them to factory install it. I even asked the dealer if I could upgrade to it. They said no.

I did a few retrofits, but these stock projectors are so good I wouldn't suggest to go through the trouble unless you want a bixenon setup. This is a way better setup than HID's in reflectors and frosted lens. The blue-ish color sucks though compare to 5300k OEM stock colors.

Those aren't really blinding anyway, and even with the stock halogen bulb you have those squirrel finders.
