Regarding the piping sizes, I measured both headers and they are the external ones.

Take a hammer and chisel to the cat in the header, then have a good tuner tune the car.
The dip isn't really the issue people make out. Marketing has turned it into something to make money. I tried Tomei headers, the decated OWM header beat them hands down. No sticker or street cred though, only more power for no extra dollars. Did I say use a "good" tuner..... In the end a AVO turbo is what you want.. Have a look at me sig, the ending is sad though. Do a skid...

Attached the details of the new header. There was an increase in the pipe diameters. The diameter change is 5% and 8% respectively. In fact, if you do the math, the actual area increase is even more! In the range of 11% and 16.5% ... Only problem, is that the torque dip is worse. This makes total sense if you increase the pipes. They tried to hide this a bit with the red intake manifold and the 4.3 differential change. Last edited by nikitopo; 05-13-2020 at 03:31 AM. |

because you have high EGT even on NA, and with forced induction you increase it even more and with a cat and supercharger you can possibly reach 1000 degrees Celsius in particular condition and risk of medium term damage to the cat
and that would also be dangerous to engine if cat falls apart |

Cat will fail soon with a s/c. These are the things vendors will not say often. Meaning that you 'll need to go with a catless header, because it'll increase the overall s/c cost.

So all those S/C kits that are CARB legal will destroy cats thus making the kit no longer CARB legal???
Sounds legit. |
