Radio Reception is poor?

While I have low expectations/needs of in-car audio, I do listen to the local radio stations.

I can get about half the stations in the FRS that I do in my other car, and even the ones that do come in tend to have static. Dealer mention worthy or normal?

Yes it's bad. Never had so much static on any other car I've owned.

Same here. You'd think the ugly antenna would at least pull in stations.

Seriously. I originally thought it was because I put on the beatsonic sharkfin antenna while at the dealership, when I picked the car up (so I never heard the radio with the OEM antenna). But then I test drove a FRS and BRZ after I already had mine (for another reason - to see if the suspension felt the same)...anyway, it was just as bad. I was kind of relieved on one hand knowing it wasn't the sharkfin antenna that was creating the problem, but also pissed that it was just that bad for everyone.

Don't forget to change the car model in the radio settings to "FRS" that makes a world of difference.

Has there been a fix for this? I have a 2015 wRX with what looks like the same sharkfin antenna as our 13 FRS. I installed the exact same kenwood radio in each car, the reception in the FRS sucks compared to my WRX.

Check your radio settings.
Not sure which head unit you have but make sure "local" stations are set to off.

"Local" setting only pulls in near by radio stations.

Either that or you have a cheap shark fin antenna.
