What the hell kind of baby were you? I was definitely born fat, 9lbs 8oz., if my BMI now matched when I was a newborn, I'm pretty sure I'd be clearing 700lbs!

Because news organizations have the double motivation that articles about TPP don't generate ad revenue and their owners don't want them writing about the TPP. Replace TPP with whatever issue is insanely important but being swept under the rug at the time (roughly every ~4 months or so something new pops up).

Culturally from a pseudo-science bullshit I wanna feel smart freakonomics perspective I like to think we are experiencing the "everybody gets a ribbon" attitude of child rearing conceptualized in the 60's-70's (Thanks Spock?) and implemented in the 80's-00's.

Again guys, I am not saying she is fat and a horrible person….I am alarmed she is fat and people all over the US are telling her how strong and amazing she is. No, she is overweight and bought a shirt that fits her, which someone much smaller made fun of.

What if I made fun of an oversized, 100oz beer, made an alcoholic cry (who overheard me) and then they bought the bottle and drank the whole thing (which doesn’t bother me, to this point), but THEN posted on social media they did so and were supported. ‘Oh, you are so strong, its ok if you are an alchoholic, drink your beer and be proud, stand up for yourself, don’t let those sober kids bring you down!’

Poor example, that definitely happens it just doesn't hit CNN. Western culture is incredibly alcoholic. Name a handful of modern sitcoms, I guarantee you at least one of them contains an alcoholic character that is not treated as an alcoholic, some of them consist entirely of alcoholics (How I Met Your Mother).

There's nothing to understand, its for ad revenue, either from people who preach love and tolerance to all or people like you.

IIRC, didn't Doc Spock eventually apologize for his theories on child-upbringing? Late 90s if memory serves.

Its a great example, as is the one you gave here...I understand your example and think its wrong. We shouldn't show unhealthy behavior in a positive light.
