Same. I am so ready for May.
I did a playthrough of Andromeda too. I enjoyed it very much, and I wish we could have seen Andromeda developed properly instead fo getting restart after restart and getting rushed in 18 months. There is so much potential in that game.

First time playing Andromeda on PC this time, some weird bugs with controller support of all things but other wise a better experience than on a 2013 Xbox one. I ended up completely switching to PC over the last year after I built my PC for HL:Alyx at the end of 2019 (SO glad I built one then, not 6 months later). I finally understand people's beef with 30FPS on consoles, solid 60FPS is so much nicer now. Now I use Nvidia's gamestream to stream my PC to almost any screen in the house (moonlight client) and between Gamepass PC and Sony bringing their exclusives to PC after a delay (HZD, GOW and GOT coming soon) I no longer feel like I need a console anymore.

Meanwhile....I just finished the SP campaign on Halo 3 (Master Chief Edition). Since I don't "do consoles" for the most part, I had only played Halo:CE and Halo 2.

So, I have to say, by the time 3 came around they were really just phoning in the single user campaign. It felt like I was playing a reboot of CE, right down to the vehicle run to end the game.

Still fun, but I'm glad I didn't pay release money for it.

I think that was around the time all of the PvP became extremely popular and that's all people wanted to play, so storylines were shit.

I, too, didn't play Halo 3 till the MCC came out on PC. Though, subsequently, I liked it outside a few plot points about certain characters.

Agreed on the Halo3 campaign.

Reach though, that was probably Bungie’s finest hour when it comes to storytelling. I’m not a massive Halo fan, but Reach was just fantastic beginning to end.

This is sort of an aside, and speaking of Halo, I attended my Nephew's wedding yesterday. During the dinner service the bride had insisted on instrumental music only during the reception.

The selection of music was mostly orchestral, sounded mostly classical, and yet was somehow familiar.

Then, I recognized the main track from Halo. After that, I continued to listen and realized about half the tracks were gaming tracks and the other half were LOTR, Star Wars with a few Disney thrown in. Except for the Disney tracks, pretty much none of the "older" adults had any idea they were listening to gamer radio. It was very well selected by the Bride and Groom.

YES. The bugs and glitches that gave it a bad name are gone, and it's very enjoyable. My biggest gripe with the game is that they only use one Asari face model (apart from Peebee, Dr Lexi, and the Asari Pathfinder). They do this with the other aliens throughout the series and only change the texture person-to-person, but with the Asari it gets on my nerves cause we're so good at recognizing human faces. The second biggest gripe I have is pacing. It's a really long game compared to ME1/2/3. The side quests (not loyalty missions, actual filler-type side quests) tend to bog the story down, and since the game is so long to begin with, I think it's best to focus on the main story and allies' quests to keep the game from becoming a slog. In my experience it takes ~60 hours to play the the game (not completionist), while each trilogy game is usually about half that.

Combat is the best in the series IMO, less cover to cover running and much more verticality, also the range in how the weapons and powers feel is larger.

The overall atmosphere of the game reminds me of ME1, the heavy emphasis on exploration, everything being new, the world building is in full swing again.

The characters are overall enjoyable, not ME2 loyalty missions level, but definitely mostly good and some fantastic.

46GB? Pathetic.

Played a few rounds of the new anniversary drop of "Risk of Rain 2" with my sons last night. Some great additions to the game including the new Bandit character.

Very addictive casual 3rd person shooter game even if I do suck at it.

Bought Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed for about $15 off Steam. Forgot how much fun it was to play it and even better now with my PC build. Even with a controller, is kind of tricky, but very enjoyable. Pair that with some decent headphones and you'll have tons of fun in the drifting events using Mad Mike's RX-8, thing just screams.

ME Andromeda.
My 10 minute game play review. The opening cinematics were cool. The look of the game, the way it plays seems a little clunky, not very polished. Not a huge criticism, just an observation.

Realism wise I give it a fail. This guy has been cooped up for 600 years and he still hasn't boned any of the females. Or guys for that matter.
