Recon Advice Pls

Hey guys so i went to get recon at kapahulu this morning and i failed. The rear bounce test worked, but the front bounce test was too stiff he said. Im on coils with 8k front 10k rear stiffness. I put my coils all the way soft and the travel still wasnt enough. any advice or fixes?? mahalo
the guys claimed i was only tire bouncing not suspension bouncing

and we tried to bounce my friends stock suspension BRZ and it was the same result. His BRZ traveled the same amount as mine. So..... idk what to do

According to the manual, they only requirement is the car moves downward when they push on a corner. The manual (page 20) says it's a fail if the vehicle cannot be moved downward.

They couldn't push it downward at all?

Can we just quote this manual text if they don't pass the car and the car still bounces downward?

Good luck with that. I have a feeling that showing them the manual won't make them see the light. But, who knows? If it doesn't work, perhaps you could complain up the chain in the DMV.

RECON has made alot of changes over the years, majority of which is for the better. But that ridiculous push test to verify one inch travel has never gone away. Lots of people have challenged it in court. I've heard a few people have won personal exemption but have never seen actual proof of that. In the end no one has actually tried them legally to do away with the practice altogether for car lovers in Hawaii.

I think the regulation is still there to catch guys with cut springs, etc etc. I've gone to RECON for both of my 240sx"s, my 350Z, and my FR-S, the former three with coilovers. All have passed. 10k spring rate seems a bit high for Hawaii's streets. You running BC ER?
