FRS VS. AE86

to all ae86 owners...

now this topic is more of like the similarities between the two cars..

are you convinced that the frs share its soul with the legendary ae86?

my first car was an ae86 which was 7 years ago.. and the ae86 was my only car until two weeks ago (7 years later) i bought the new frs..

i have 3 ae86 2 hatchback (20v 4age & 16v 4age) and 1 coupe (ap2 s2k motor drift car)

i always tell everybody that i cant imagine driving another car without the steering feel of an ae86..

i have to say that the steering of the frs is very close to an ae86 with the manual steering.. for a new car with power steering .. it has very minimal assist and you get a good feel of the front tires.. i love it!

is there anything else that you guys think or which reminds you of your old ae86?

hmmm.. i can somehow relate to the engineers keeping the HP at 200 .. still allowing the drivers to push and enjoy the car at the same time.. this reminds me of an ae86 alot.. clutch kicking to make it through a bank on a mid drift...

FRS steering is so quick and responsive. It is a powered delivered steering.

The driving experience is slightly different obviously because one has newer technology assisted nannies and the other was just almost fully mechanical.

Aside from all the electrical power assisted components; the car is almost a carbon copy of the AE86, layout/concept-wise anyways...
Front engine, rear-wheel drive, and light-weight; all together contributing in making this car feel like a little go-kart.

it comes close to the AE86, but the one thing i miss most is the direct throttle response.. you just feel that the FRS/GT86 has an electronic gas throttle. it is just not as direct as it is in my AE86.
