Asphalt does not show dirt from a distance, up close (within 6 feet or so) you can see it. Most dirt is roughly gray so Asphalt covers it up pretty well. On the other hand, Asphalt is kind of a stealth color. People don't notice the car unless they really know cars.

I own a gunmetal 300zx and love the colour. It does hide a lot of imperfections and when it is waxed up it looks stunning. I have personally opted for the Velocity orange (Hot Lava), but was seriously considering Grey or Blue

i have an asphalt, and it hides dirt very well. when you come up close and look, you can see it, but not like black where it's visible from a mile away.
love the colour! |

some pics i've seen of it make it look like a dark grey while others make it look like a light grey. i'm sure the lighting has to do with it, but it might be the pics being washed out making it look light. in person is it always a dark grey?

I have the asphalt and I absolutely love it. Could care less about people needing to get close to see what car I have, I know what it is and thats all that matters.
Dirt is noticeable up close, and even more so for me (I'm absolutely insane about cleanliness of my car) but overall the color is stellar. Had a Black and a Asphalt sitting next to one another and chose the Asphalt! |

I have had my asphalt car since the middle of May and have yet to wash it. It still looks pretty good. With my other car being white it shows dirt pretty bad and I need to wash it every couple of weeks.

Asphalt is VERY forgiving on dirt showing up, but offers most of the benefits of black when it comes to accenting the body contours, and shapes. I love mine.

Agree with everything said! From a distance it'll hide dirt, but up close, its just as bad as black in my opinion. The color definitely depends on the lighting. In direct sunlight the flake will blind you and the grey appears lighter, but if its overcast or shaded, it'll be darker. And at night its black

I have washed/polished/waxed both a raven and asphalt frs. They are completely different worlds, black is a part time job compared to the gunmetal.
