I'm so disappointed by the new styling, I'd still look for a used first gen. Don't care about engine, trans, whatevs...

Crap!! Sorry to hear that. My wife, of all people, swears that women should not be allowed in SUVs. Period. End of story. I can’t disagree. A woman in a Tahoe put me in the ICU for a couple of weeks and came really close to putting an end to me. Glad you’re ok.

This reminds me of an incident I watched. I was carpooling home with a coworker and making a right turn with a green light for my direction. An oncoming car in the left turn lane whips in front of us and flips us off and honks. I didn't think much of it and follow them to the next light. They get in the turn lane to make another left and I get in the lane to go straight. My light turned green and they jumped on the throttle and rear ended the car in front of them since the light for the turn lane was still red. We waved when we went by.

I can see that. I think the GR at least is fine for styling from pictures, but I will wait to see it in person. There seem to be quite a few upsides to the gen2 though.

Except that the job postings are for the Singapore office to replace our night shift here. Higher pay, tropical weather, sktechy English, don't really do anything on their own unless being asked, and constantly calling in sick on a weekly basis (probably just chilling at the beach). What's not to like? Well until we found out how much is a new Honda Civic there. |

Or you just change the final drive (unless you can't go any higher) Or strip the whole thing down |

I am running a 4.3 FD now. I plan to switch to a 4.44 in the future but would need to be able to raise the rev limit to about 8K or I will be shifting way too much and it wouldn't be a gain. The torque of the FA24 would mean I could stick with the 4.3, or even go back to a 4.1. This is where building an FA20 would come into play, needing to work on the lubrication system and possibly going forged rods and pistons. Rotational speed is exponentially harder on those parts. I am at 7600rpm now and going to 7800rpm this year and hoping the current engine lives. I am avoiding stripping the car down because of rules, and because I like the idea that it is still a "street" car. Pull the splitter and I can still drive it on public roads without too much issue. This is why I hate GTA's classing. Look at the cars that are in "street" which is where my car would be classed. I don't get how a gutted turbo K swap NSX with a dog box is a street car. Amen! Blowers make the engine feel heavier on the spool, and turbo's gonna turbo no matter what. I still love the stock FA20. I just want an excuse to get my tinker on down the road, maybe.
