I was 40+ when I ordered my FR-S back in April, 2012. I daily drove that car (in Canada) year-round for 5 years, and loved every minute of it. The FR-S made for a surprisingly good (and entertaining) winter car, with the right tires. The time came where I needed a truck, and traded it in on a Tacoma.
I miss driving that car...so much so, I picked up another 'driver's car' last year, in an attempt to scratch that backroads itch. Now, a BMW 128i is a nice little driver in its own respect, but in comparison, the '86' was like a go-kart.
I'm 50+ now, and am seriously considering the purchase of a 2nd generation 86.

128i is a very underrated car, especially after a few bolt-ons incl the intake mani.

It is...and nice to look at as well. The 3-stage intake is high on my list of want-to-dos. So is a limited slip diff...the car needs it. Stiffer (or solid) rear subframe bushings, and 1M/M3 control arms are also high on the list. I like the 128i enough to keep it around...If I pick up an 86 (or sell my Mustang and snag a Supra), I'll give the BMW to my wife.

I hope you're right. I've been pretty rough on my body over those years, and it's starting to catch up with me. I tried a Supra on for size the other day...let me just say anyone who has issues with ingress/egress of an 86 should try one of those out!
Once inside, it was quite nice. Getting my 6'2" 220lb frame in and out was another story...on the way in looked like a bull through an outhouse, and the way out kind of resembled Jim Carey squeezing his way out the arse end of a rhino...

That’s a lot of cars how did you keep track?

Im possibly on a different ownership history
as im only working on my 6 & 7th vehicle since 1977.
Not sure if there will be a 8th one needed at this point.
All were bought new, would have kept a few longer
if not for Theft & a rollover due to my stupidity in the rain.

That's amazing! It's totally on the other end of the spectrum, but I bet you enjoyed every one of those vehicles to their fullest extent. As to how I keep track, I literally keep a list, haha.

I've also bought all my cars new starting with a 1973 Mercury Capri. I've owned several Toyotas, Hondas/Acuras, Mazdas, BMWs, a Volvo, a VW, an Infiniti and the only American car a 1992 Jeep Cherokee which was also the shortest term of ownership of any car I've owned. It was just a total POS but had use as a tow vehicle for a boat.
As a memento for all the cars I've owned, I have every printed brochure. Some I had to buy on eBay since I didn't realize early on that I wanted to keep a collection which goes to prove that youth is wasted on the young. The GR86 will probably be the last ICE vehicle that I will ever own and plan to keep it until my kids fight over it when I'm not able to drive anymore. They'll have to pry the keys from my cold dead hands!
