What type of transportation do they use to get around? Not having a car only works in large cities.

Truck drivers aren't required to drive manual anymore coming out of school.

I'd say a 1/4 of the people I know can drive manual but I only know a few people that bought one, excluding bikes.

Im 33 and most of my friends (25-40) know how to drive manual. About half of those have a manual car. Just goes to show anecdotal data can vary wildly.

EXACTLY! And trying to draw a line from age of buyers to age of tranny type based on what an individual's friends drive or a poor assumption is a fools game at best.

It is ironic that many of the "older" people refer to MT as a "standard" because not that long ago the MT was the norm and At was the exotic option. I personally have to make a conscious effort not to call them standards anymore because anybody under the age of 50 or so will just look at you with a blank stare if you use the term.

True, I can see this happening with electric vehicles too, we’re always saying “Electric Vehicle” whereas 20 or so years from now the petrol vehicle will be the exotic/anomaly and you’ll have to stop yourself saying EV….

Before electric guitars were invented, acoustic guitars were called "guitars".

Transit for the majority of them, TTC does actually get to my workplace. Alas, their commute times are awful compared to mine. For TTC to take me home, I'd need 3 or 4 times my car commute time and I don't even live ridiculously far away. For most of them I think car commute would shave off a decent percentage of their commute. Going to work would be fairly fast as it goes against much of the traffic, going home mostly depends on traffic probably still save some time just not as incredible.

Yep. Small data sets are difficult to get stuff from.
