Most clubs I've run with require windows down, also for "safety" reasons (access to occupants in event of incident). At some point we tried windows half-down for cars without nets but I believe some tracks require windows all the way down.

Every club/track I have been to in the US requires windows down for safety reasons. Just shows you how arbitrary this stuff is.

The DE groups could careless that it ruins a car's aero, you're not racing. You just kind of deal with the wind buffeting. Helmets help to muffle some of it out. Different groups have different rules for convertibles also. Some are top up, some are top down, even in light rain. Some require arm restraints if you want top down, PCA for example.

Funny... here it's always been "window up" unless you've got nets. The marshal at pit-out always checks and if your window is open more than an inch he stops you and makes a cranking motion (like anyone remembers crank windows?) and doesn't let you out until he's satisfied.

Hooked on Driving in the US started allowing windows up, like the rest of the world. Hope other orgs will follow.
