Even the base of that section says: H. Camber kits (also known as camber compensators) may be installed. These kits consist of either adjustable length arms or arm mounts (including ball joints) that provide a lateral adjustment to the effective length of a control arm. |

14.8.H.1
On double/unequal arm (e.g., wishbone, multi-link) suspensions, only the upper arms OR lower arms may be modified or replaced, but not both. Non-integral longitudinal arms that primarily control fore/aft wheel movement (e.g., trailing arm(s) or link(s) of a multi-link suspension) may not be replaced, changed, or modified. Plus the note in H.6, Seems to me that upper arms are legal. |

My statement before about Upper Arms being not illegal was due to 14.8.H.6 not existing prior. I'm well aware about the other rulesets

Just like how the SPC LCA is legal as it comes for SSC, but not for STX. In almost any other case, the parts from a "lower" class are legal in a higher class.

M0nk3y must have memorized the rules before 2012. Showing our ages here.
I also have some old rules running around in my head, but at least I can laugh with people calling out "stock" classes, finally. BTW, I switched to the RacerX RUCA with the bushing. Rear LCAs are back to OEM. If the new BRZ had aluminum upper arms that were compatible, and that was the only change we made, would that be allowed, or does that cross the updating parts rule? I'm running mostly everything else the same as 2020, but I'm increasing my spring rates for my RCE T3s. I'm trying out 9k front, 11k rear. I know it's unconventional. I had some interesting experiences with 7k fronts and 9k rears with the A052s last year, and I'm willing to try something different. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

You could use it as an 'aftermarket'/modified arm with an adjustable ball joint for camber and leave the LCA stock. |

Figured I'd throw in my stuff. Got the car done and won my local area's class, but need some more experience before heading to the more serious events.
2016 Hyperblue BRZ - ProParts Megan Racing coilovers (400/400 springs) - using the Raceseng Caster/Camber plates and Megan front end links - Perrrin 22mm front sway bar, set on soft - Stock Rear Sway - Stock rear end links - Racer X Rear Upper Control Arms (Stock LCA's) - Superpro Front Control Arm Bushings - Whiteline Subframe bushing inserts - Whiteline Bushings across Rear Suspension - Alignment - Raceseng Top hats get me up to 4.3* of Camber using the stock bolts on the strut. I should be around 4.3*F and 2.4* rear. Toe undetermined. - Ace A-350 with CSG 93 Tune - CSG Spec - Touring 86 Exhaust - Perrin inlet tube - Perrin Engine Mounts (The type that use the poly cylinders) - Jackson Racing Dual Radiator & oil cooler - Whiteline Transmission insert - Whiteline Differential Bushing inserts - Braille Green-Lite G20 Li-Ion Battery with MeLe Battery Box - Weds TC105N in Curcuit White, 17x9 +35 - 245/40/17 RE-71r, but will be moving to the A052s or the Nankang CR-1's pending reviews. I don't think I'm going to mess with what I have so far this year. I'm going to focus on getting to as many events as possible and improve on the driver skills. FYI - The 2021 Rules now specifically allow for a dual use radiator/oil cooler (14.10.A & 14.10.L.4) and the replacement of the Clutch Disk and Pressure Plate (Not the Flywheel - 14.10.O) |

Doe the Jackson Racing radiator/oil-cooler save any weight over the OEM radiator? |

99.99% sure it doesn't. Thicker core than the OEM radiator, no plastic on the sides for mounting, and the addition of the oil-to-coolant heat exchanger makes that near impossible. Additional .5L of oil also adds weight. More volume in the radiator core also assumes that the coolant volume is also increased (may be a bad assumption). The only thing that maybe the "gotcha" on it is the width of the core, as the addition of the oil-to-coolant heat exchanger may have intruded on the core width. |

It shouldn't/can't or else it'd be illegal.

Looking forward to 2021, going to start off with some suspension updates. Let me know if anyone sees anything "missing" that is a good mod, other than a diff. Especially anything thats legal to help shed some LBS from my BRZ limited.
I sold my SPC RLCA and will be moving to the Verus ones w/ the legal bushing and I ordered some Diftech 1 inch top hats for the rear. I have had what I believe is 500# springs on my RCE T2, but going to swap to 400# springs. I will be emailing RCE to confirm part #s. ----------------- Current Setup Plan for 2021: Engine/Driveline: OFT 91 oct Stock intake box / Perrin Inlet and K&N Filter Grimmspeed Crank Pulley Tomei EL Header / stock overpipe Berk Catted Front Pipe Invidia q300 catback Whiteline trans / diff inserts Perrin Oil Cooler *-*-*- Brakes: AP Sprint Kit Stainless lines Hawk HP+ pads *-*-*- Suspension RCE T2 - w/ 400# springs Ground Control Top Hats Diftech Rear Tophats(1 inch lowering) Verus RLCA Hotchkis Sway Bars(may swap to stock rear) -Whiteline shorted front and Hotchkis rear endlinks Whiteline FLA bushing(front) Grimmspeed Front Strut Bar *-*-*-*- Misc Braille 11lb battery Alcantara wrapped OEM wheel I have a feeling I am missing something Last edited by ka-t_240; 01-11-2021 at 08:29 PM. |
