Agendas man. Agendas. There's always a particular perception media and such want you to view things. That's why it's crucial to always get multiple sources or opinions, and then analyze what you've read or heard. I believe it's called critical thinking lol. But yeah, just depends what the flavor of the month/week/day is for news and other talking heads.

In this case, they know it's affected a few people so they're taking precautions to learn why so they know what to ask people in the future to prevent it.

Like come on Summerwolf, do you never take any meds? Tylenol? Ibuprofen? Pox vaccine? Tetanus?

I can't imagine you're a complete anti-vaxxer, which means you should have the common sense that medicines can occasionally cause issues for some people and typically the people administering them try to be able to find those people who would be affected and not allow them to take it.

For instance, even the flu vaccine has different variants. Like if you're allergic to eggs, they ask you and if you tell them then they'll use a different variant.

It's just one of those things.

Honestly you should be happy that there's a system in place that decides to put an entire vaccine administration on hold just because .000000857% (very rough percentage) of the people who've gotten it so far had unintended side effects.
You misunderstand me. I have had the J&J vaccine. My wife is a pharmacist. We did research, talked about it. Accessed medical reports etc. Then literally a couple days after we all get the vaccine.... boom they stop THAT vaccine due to an "overabundance of caution."

No matter what you do it doesn't seem like the right choice when it comes to Covid. My comment was tongue in cheek.

Every vaccine has risks. For example, the Sabin polio vaccine (which used a weakened but live version of the virus) is known to occasionally cause polio (refered to as Type 2 Polio) because the virus mutates, but is still used globally (not in the US) because it is very highly effective and can be stored without refrigeration.

The idea is to have something that is less risk than the actual disease, which when taken overall, and not a specific case, the vaccines are.
Yes, I realize that. People reported getting bells palsy after Moderna/Pfizer and they didn't stop that rollout. It's like this specific vaccine rollout and the government rollout in general has bred skepticism.

You're saying how everything has been treated from the beginning of this pandemic, the rollout of vaccines, the way they're handling the vaccine in general is NOT a shit show?

Don't worry, the gun control / gun violence agenda in our country is still there and has been a shit show much longer than covid.

Right now in the state of Ontario our ICUs and Covid wards are so full they are shuttling people to other hospitals sometimes 150 miles away and triage tents are set up at some locations.
Also, as of today the police can pull you over at random and if you cannot provide valid proof why you are not close to home you will be fined. I am in favor of this since a police state is necessary to get people to comply now.
My biggest frustration is that my area was declared a hotspot on April 3 and I was elligible for vaccination being of age. Was bumped out in queue online for appt, , ended up accepting an appt. April 25, way too long for my zone, then today I received a text from the local pharmacy that I can set an appt today except I won't since that leaves a no-show on Apr 25 if I do. An to top things off now I heard Moderna shipments were halved so who even knows if I'll get the shot on the 25th. I should probably book the pharmacy except double bookings are discouraged and problematic as well. Shit.

On a bright note I got a killer deal on a really good phono preamp and some nice cables locally just before the lockdown. I have ultrasonically cleaned and cellophane sealed 10 Doobie Brothers LPs in the last 2 days, playing them before packaging. It helps to have stuff to do at home for sure.

Can you not cancel the second booking if you get the one at your local Pharmacy? Seems they should be able to backfill it with this much notice.

I don't think I can cancel, just no show. Also, since we have socialized medicine here the appt. was linked to my provincial health card # so it may reject the appt anyway. I'm going to try and see.

Update: Meh, I will leave well enough alone, the pharmacy appt. was for April 21, 4 days difference.

So how does that work for essential tradespeople?

Are plumbers, hvac, and electricians outright rejecting service calls?

All essential construction continues. That includes things like infrastructure and housing. Serious safety protocol requirements are imposed. If your pipe bursts that is essential too. Getting your house interior painted probably is not.

My former employer who I left after 17 years in 2019 told their employees to come in last week, half staff of 25 at a time to the office since they feel their sales were better than everyone working from home. I so badly wanted to report these greedy dirtbags but decided it has little impact on my life plus it only reinforced one more time why I chose to cease working for them.

Ontario police announced on social media that they will not conduct spot checks despite being empowered to do so. Maybe only if they feel inclined to do so depending on the circumstances.

The hospital system I work for is down to less than 3% of our beds being COVID patients. The peak was over 50%.

Apparently 24% of adults in the US are fully vaccinated so I would say that is indeed so. 38% are in some partial stage of vaccination (1st shot or less than 2 weeks from their 2nd).
