Possible that they can not come up with something that exceeds the flow of stock but still cleans the air. Go work on Toyota/Subaru's part if that is the case.

Quite possible. I hadn't considered that.

Received my Perrin Inlet Tube a couple weeks ago and finally got it installed today!

Honestly as a beginner I'm pretty frustrated with Perrin's lack of decent instructions. The instructions didn't show/say where screws/bolts were located or what tools would be needed, and for the most part assumed you had already removed the complete OEM tube and sound generator, which was stupid.

I got most of it done okay-ish, but had some issues with sitting the tube and clamping it properly, so @JeremyR helped out! Very awesome and thankful for his help on this.

Some pics...

Looks good but I hope that it isn't as close to that belt as it looks. Camera angle optical illusion?

Yeah, I think it's at least an inch.

edit: took a look and it's probably more like half an inch. But definitely space between the two.

It is closer to the belt due to the design, but once the car was running i checked for play of the hose and there is none. It's a really solid intake so there should be no contact at all.

Someone (@jr_zc6 on ig) took some rolling shots as we drove up Hwy 17 to Scotts Valley to Canepa Cars & Coffee. The filth/dirt adds character, okay?! JK, finally going to wash it next weekend for the first time in a month.

Installed a Grimmspeed strut tower bar today!

Easy < 20 min install. Haven't tested it yet, though. Will do that later today.

Even though this has been the first and only manual car I've ever driven, I've felt the past 8 months of ownership that the OEM shift knob doesn't feel quite right to me. So for the past month or two I've been casually looking at different options to get a better idea of what's available.

Ended up deciding recently to try out the nicer of the two (I think?) STI knobs that are only sold in Japan (omg JDM! jk). So I bought this and it took just 1.5 days to arrive!

Installed it tonight:

Sorry for the bad lighting but it was already dark out..

And bad comparison photo to the regular OEM knob:

I believe somebody, somewhere on the forums measured the weights of the two and found the STI knob to be about 70 grams heavier. I only drove a mile tonight so I can't say whether it's improved shift feel dramatically yet. However, I think the quality of the material definitely feels nicer. The OEM stock one always felt a bit too slippery and I didn't like the top so much, plus it just felt kind of bulky. The STI seems narrower toward the top, and the leather wrapped around it feels a bit nicer and higher quality.

I'll try to post up a better opinion post after I've driven with it a bit more.

Nice! I had the nameless catback with 5in mufflers on my WRX. I think the axleback with the stock midpipe/resonator will be a good combo.

Time to add a diffuser to your shopping list, since the OEM suitcase one is gone.

Hah, sweet! I am waiting on a Nameless axleback myself, to test out with the stock mid-pipe Should be a light setup and hopefully quiet enough to meet sound at race events!
