They were trying to design something that would work with an existing ots tune. They did. Maybe some tuning will improve the results. It sounds like we're about to find out.

I'm going to post this here and everyone can tear the data to shreds in whichever fashion you see fit.
EDIT: Also to be clear, I ran about 4 pulls and shut the car down to heat soak. 4 more pulls and this is the best run out of the 8. All were consistent in power. I then swapped back to the stock intake while still strapped to the dyno, flashed the tune, and proceeded to run 8 more pulls just like we did with the Racer X. We tried to remove as many variables as possible. First the facts: Racer X setup: e62 fuel penguin tech racing flex fuel sensor ace a350 header 1320 dual resonated front pipe stock exhaust factory airbox/filter with modified joiner pipe Factory manifold: e62 fuel penguin tech racing flex fuel sensor ace a350 header 1320 dual resonated front pipe stock exhaust factory airbox/filter sound tube delete Both tunes were done by tomm.brz and he has done a phenomenal job getting things done all the way from Italy. I can't speak highly enough about his ability to send revisions so quickly, and the car feels great. If you need a tune, consider giving Tommaso a shout. racer x dyno_1 by hatchethairy, on Flickr Unfortunately the intake isn't ideal for my plans, so I will be putting it up for sale with ALL of the parts needed to install. They don't provide a few items that are needed to get it bolted in, so hit me up if you are interested. I think a boosted setup may be the most ideal purpose for this intake, but I could be wrong. Second on Tommaso delivering a quality tune.
He got me dialed in with a Petro 94 tune with gruppe-s headers, and the car pulls strong through the entire rev range. As far as I'm concerned he also went above and beyond as far as revisions to get it perfect. |

Knowing is better than not knowing. No one can complain of non 3rd party results now.

Big thanks for actually putting the money up and making the results public for everyone on here to see! Are these tunes on EcuTek or OFT? |

I just don't think there is much to gain from changing the intake system on the FA20. From what I have read, the stock intake system already flows more air than the heads/valves can push. So unless you build the engine with higher flowing heads/bigger valves (or add boost to compress the air), it does not matter how much more air you can get the intake system to move. Adding this to the original post from the dyno, but our method of testing was as follows:
I ran 4 pulls and shut the car down to heat soak. 4 more pulls and this is the best run out of the 8. All were consistent in power however. I then swapped back to the stock intake while still strapped to the dyno, flashed the tune, and proceeded to run 8 more pulls just like we did with the Racer X. We tried to remove as many variables as possible. |

They can put up or shut up. Still a good test, unless someone is super picky and wants to see something in particular the end result is pretty clear. The only thing I am curious on based on a couple other threads is IAT's on each pull.

Yeah I wish I would have run logs for the pulls, but it was my first time using a dyno and trying to swap the intake without adding a ton of cost was on my mind most. |
