Not a big deal, except its another point for leakage. You'd almost be better off having an optional single piece soft-top on it. It is nice to have the hard top though, but seems like a leak waiting to happen.

My '83 Z28 custom targa had that, and in over 100,000 miles it never leaked once, and rolled up to throw in the back seat, or trunk. When it was on it was as tight as any convertible top I've ever seen.

Yes, just brings back memories when they took off the 2 piece roof. My Mr2 at 94k miles had a slight leak on the drivers side, which bothered the hell out of me. Leaks will eventually cause moisture and that shit turns to rust. I found that out when I removed one of seals on the ttop
