Not a big deal, except its another point for leakage. You'd almost be better off having an optional single piece soft-top on it. It is nice to have the hard top though, but seems like a leak waiting to happen. My '83 Z28 custom targa had that, and in over 100,000 miles it never leaked once, and rolled up to throw in the back seat, or trunk. When it was on it was as tight as any convertible top I've ever seen.
