I went to the dive bar today for the first time in a couple weeks. Things have changed. My favorite bartender went to rehab. She is a meth addict, but a nice meth addict. I hope she does well.

They hired a cute girl that I think is one of the stupidest people I have ever met, and is by far the worst bartender I have ever seen. It was painful dealing with her.

I tell her I want a screwdriver. She asks if that is rum and coke. I say no, and tell her it is vodka and orange juice. She gets side tracked for 5 minutes helping another customer with a can of beer in the middle of helping me, then gets a glass, fills it with ice, and pours the vodka. Then she grabs the gun, hesitates, and looks at me and says, "was that sprite?"

When I have time, I'll tell you about ordering my second screwdriver.

Btw @humfrz, I hit $575 with $20 in on the lotto machine. It took the new bartender 20 minutes to pay me. She asked if I wanted small bills. I figured she ment $20s. I got $400 in fives. I just shook my head.

Well, now, good to hear you are out and about -

I hope your bartender friend does well in rehab. As a conservation starter after she gets out, ask her which NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meeting she is attending. If she says she can't find one close by, tell her ol humfrz suggests she join an AA group, they will welcome her. NOTE: Don't YOU suggest it, because you aren't an addict and wouldn't understand (in her mind) BUT, ol humfrz is a 20+ year recovering alcoholic ..... and he does understand.

As far as the not too bright new bartender girl, you may consider taking advantage of her (NO, not that way - ). When you order your vodka and orange juice, tell her you want a San Jose screwdriver. Explain to her how to make it. Take an 8 ounce glass, put 2 ice cubes in it, fill it to within 1 inch of the top with vodka then top it off with a orange juice, then gently stir.

As far as your future winnings, I suggest you take a backpack in with you, in case she wants to pay you off in ones -

So, how are your tomatoes doing? Remember a long time ago, when I tried to caution you about trying to grow tomatoes in the PNW? I suggest you look up a good recipe for fried green tomatoes -

Things are going fine here. The 8th grader and the 6th grader each have desks (from the basement) for their remote learning at out house, placed in two different bedrooms. NOW, the 4 ager wants a desk for herself, placed right next to pa-pa's desk. -

Will do. She is doing it voluntarily. She sounded like she was ready when she was opening up to me. I'm hoping she does it. I told her she probably shouldn't come back to work at a bar.

My tomatoes are the most pathetic tomato patch ever. I thought I posted a pic. Many of my neighbors have great tomato plants, so they will grow fine here, I just think mine are in soil that needs help, and not enough sun.

Last thing I need is full glasses of vodka. I can't drink straight liquor, plus then I'd have to have my wife come pick me up.

The thing about the bills; most people that play the machines want to be paid in $20s vs $50s or $100s because the machines only take up to $20s. So small bills usually means $20s. Oh well, I have some $5s now.

My youngest started college at CWI. They sure made us show every document there is to prove we have lived here over a year for in-state tuition. A difference of about $1200 vs out of state. He has half on line classes, and half in person. Everyone is in masks, and everyone spread out.

How can you fall asleep with such thoughts running riot in your head.. I am usually thinking about Restomod ideas, how far to take a classic from its roots.. Less complex thoughts as engine (obviously the engine is rebuilt with more power) and body remain the same but paint, suspension, wheels and interior get the upgrades.

I can't think about car mods before i go to sleep.

That's how my reverse light project has grown to include water cooling as a viable option.

My cherry* tomatoes are doing great we harvest once or twice a week! (Not sure if you're doing full-sized or cherry though)

Sounds like my middle granddaughter when I took her down there to pick out a desk, she commented "this place looks like an Ikea story".

What don't I have down there? Ask @Ultramaroon, he has seen that disaster before.

I have a hard time throwing stuff away, being only one generation removed from the Great Depression.
