If you want some interesting comparisons, then add columns for mass and power to weight ratio.

Then add 86 RGM S/C low boost 9psi,
86x86, 2.0L, 300bhp, 315Nm, 1220kgs

And add 86 RGM S/C med boost 11psi (1 size smaller pulley), approx
86x86, 2.0L, 360bhp, 370Nm, 1220kgs

@sav is 100% right.
I've got a turbo Forester and an SC 86, and I'll take the SC any day

The whoosh of power when a turbo kicks in feels great, but...
All that glitters isn't gold.

Exactly. I prefer the linear power delivery and zero lag of a supercharger.

Meh just imagine if the 86 had 2 more cylinders it would have been a 3L 307.5bhp beast. And maybe with higher compression 12.9:1 pistons!!!

They're already not liking our fuel, raising the compression even further would be interesting.

2.5 FA25 wit direct & port injection, same compression would be awesome.

Nope, we got really crap fuel, but no crickets.
Sounds like crickets are a US thing...?
The only chirping my car does is the rubber variety

My fuel pump does sound a bit rattly at times, but it's been like that for years.
Whatever... No stress.

I had crickets at one stage. It's a curse of the high-pressure fuel pump. I haven't changed a thing and my crickets left. I also had the rev-dip issue - still happens from time to time on hot days but mostly it sorted itself out.

Well yeah. Just another reason why number comparisons never show the full story...... and everyone seems to really love the numbers these days.

Driving around Red Star with worn street tyres and stock power... I just kept thinking to myself.. "holy crap, I love this car!"

What pisses me off is the car reviews which is bullshit, especially with the reviews where they put the 86 against the new Miata. They don't even use the correct fuel for the 86 and slippery stock tires.

Our cars are severely retarded on 95 fuel, and does not show the full picture. I use Liqui Moly octane booster sometimes and there is a big difference, but that being said I believe the ECU is factory tuned specifically for the coast.
