So 1 year and 3 months since I got the car.

Rod Bearings are stuffed.
114k repair bill. Waiting on Toyota for feedback and to hear from the Warranty guys if they will cover it

Car is being stripped today and tomorrow as Toyota wants pics.

Root cause still being looked at. Luckily(?) I had taken the car to service just 2 months back so user error shouldn't come back as the reason.

Off hand.. Anyone know of a decent Subaru mechanic in JHB/PTA?

Ouch, I hope you get sorted.

Speak to Wayne Hay at WHP, he's recently rebuilt an 86 that sent 2 conrods through the block. He knows his way around Subaru engines very well.

After calling daily both the dealership and warranty place.
Got a call that Toyota approved the claim and my engine will get repaired.

Now for a long wait. ETA is 2 weeks

for the part to arrive :wtf:
Not sure if they are just replacing the short block or the entire engine but will update this thread as things occur.

Thanks! Saved Waynes number pending any other issues and he gave me some great advice about a Plan B if Toyota didn't come to the party

Yuki has 58900km odd. No reasons albeit I'm guessing oil starvation if some of the other threads on here are correct. Asked for the report, the warranty peeps got and still waiting.
