More info on Penske shocks

Found this on Penske's website.

http://shop.penskeshocks.com/brz-frs/

Starting price of $2,200 seems very cheap for a set of Penskes. Am I missing something here?
@CSG David, @CSG Mike, when will you be testing these?

That's just the dampers. Add in springs, perches, camber plates, etc, and it's right where Penske's should be

Springs @ $60 each = $240
Raceseng camber plates = $600

Grand total = $3,040. Still cheaper than Ohlins Road and Track single adjustable and Tein SRC. Looks like you can get custom valving right off the bat, too.

Add another 750 and you'll have a set of Penske 3 way for less than $4k. Opt for the 4-way and you're still under $5k ready to bolt in with enough to add the fanciest accessories and spring you can find. Heh... I was lead to believe it would cost much more... As in 2x as much as it looks like here. Now I'm just wondering which series dampers they are using to build this setup, as they don't seems to be pictured with a remote res. tho, I'm sure when you opt for the 3 or 4 ways they will have to have a remote res.

guess my money is gonna go to Penske after all. And I'd gladly pay them the asking pricing.

Ummm. I'm really sorry guys, but that's priced per shock.

I had a feeling and Myles just called to confirm.

I think I'm speaking for both myself and ayau when I say it just seem a bit hard to believe how low they're priced for what they are. Can't help but to ask 'what's the catch?' What's wrong with the ? Lol

With the amount people spend on their car, those Penske shocks are actually within reasonable reach. It's all about the priorities in which you want to put your money towards. Just look at the FI guys with fully built motors.

So, a full set of Penske super awesome coilovers is $10K+. Are they really $7K better than the Ohlins R&T or other top end coilovers?

Ya..true. I'm sure we'll see them being used by hardcore track/autox/drift heads soon enough.

But also, I am sure we will see these on pure show cars with rocket bunny kits and 22" wheels too.
