The first 10 kits have been ordered from Tractive. The complete kit we'll ship relies on parts from 4 other suppliers and some parts we 3D print here. We don't have ETA's on everything so we're not taking pre-orders just yet. As before, shoot us an email to be put on the mailing list info@949racing.com
Best guess right now is we'll open for pre-orders by the end of March and ship the first kits in early May. Pricing could change before we begin accepting orders but right now it stands at $3649 for the complete kit that uses your existing top mounts. That includes springs, helpers, torrington bearings and everything you need to install. Also includes the inserts to adjust front camber. Our BCM (camber plates and billet rear mounts) will add $499 for a shipped price of $4148. All options include free shipping. Here's the link on our site http://949racing.com/xida-coilover-86.aspx Pics are some older prototypes. We'll have production pics in a few weeks. Pretty similar but the production strut flanges are black. Last edited by 949 Racing; 03-10-2021 at 11:26 AM. |

Why does it cost so much more than Miata Xida?

Entirely different rear shock, twice as long. Inverted strut front instead of simple shock, billet CNC adjustable strut flanges, twice as long. You should be comparing them to other 86 shocks in any case, not 90-05 Miata shocks.

R&D is done. Working out some small production issues. No ETA, sorry. Its certainly as frustrating for us as it is for the 86 community. We're pushing.

If you are interested in getting a set of 86 Xidas, shoot us an email. We're putting together the first production run and need to get an idea of how many kits to make. info@949racing.com

Were there any issues with endlink clearance at full lock with the strut flange?
My Ohlins had a pretty large adjustable strut flange and I had this issue.

Initially yes. Redesigned several parts, made our own links and now you can run the same -5° camber and not destroy the links. If you're interested in a set from the first production run, contact us. First run is likely to be just 3-5 sets and 2 are already spoken for.

Once set remaining as of this morning. No plans for a 2 way. Xida 1 way function as a 2 way with a single adjustment. When we have offered 3 way Xidas for other platforms, 1 ways outsell them roughly 100 to 1. We never get requests to revalve. If we were to offer another option they would be ACE semi active like we do for the Miata.
Video with more info on our damping configuration.
