I went to take my MSF course for my bike insurance, some grandpa asked "IS THAT A SUPRA you are driving?!!!!" Needless to say I have been waiting for this moment for 6 years & NERDGAZM deep down, but I told him calmly that it's just a Subaru.

I’m praying that Toyota/Subaru will use some restraint with the 2nd gen styling. The 1st gen looks so good, I don’t think it’s appreciated enough.

54 k in Canada for 250 ish HP. Mustang bullitt sells for 50k. 200 more horse power with manual transmission and sounds fantastic. Not enough corners around to warrant that price.

Lighter weight + luxury vs heavier + cheap power. Different strokes for different folks.

Idk if I would use the word luxury. The 4 banger doesn't even have power seats.

I don’t know if you ever have owned a luxury car, but interior options are about makeups and don’t make it a luxury car. Cheap cars can have power seats or seat heaters or whatever. It is the whole car in its entirety that makes it a luxury car. Everything from the sound deadening, to the feel of the knobs as they turn, to how the lights slowly transition on, to how the doors or windows close, or the sound of the chime, or doors as they lock, the features in the MMI, sensors on the car, to the use of torx bolts...I could go on. Even a basic luxury sports car is typically miles ahead of something like the 86. The Supra might as well be a Lexus, but it isn’t a Lexus in ethos, so it is a BMW luxury Toyota.

4 cyl vs 6 cyl Supra

some context: this vid was shot semi wet road. super crazily modified rx7s, s2000s can run low 25 to high 24 secs on the same route dry.

according to wiki its about a 200 lbs difference between the 4cyl and 6.

As a man, I was offended the new girl wasn't wearing the traditional cat costume.

What is this world coming to when the Land of the Rising Sun can't even degrade their womens?

First day in FD since last year. Aasbo's in his A90 Went up against papadakis teammate Ryan Tuerck in the finals. Tuerck was driving Aasbo's old Corolla hatch. Tuerck had issues w/ power steering, doing 3 or 4 runs without it. towards the end of the day it finally caught up to him on the last run of the day where his run ended in an incomplete, not being able to turn.

Aasbo takes round 1 at St Louis in the debut of his GR Supra. Round 2 is tomorrow. You can watch for free on formula drifts youtube channel.

I have owned my fair shares of Lexus', BMWs, and Mercedes. Not sure if you have sat inside of the new Zupra yet. There are many areas that feel cheap such as the door panels, center console, and complaints about the leather on the seats. Not to mention the design is bland as hell. Even our very own Guff has found faults with it when he first sat it in. Ah you got me there. It can't be a luxury car without the BMW chime. If you want to talk about how it feels, many of the reviews have said it feels like a compromise car. Tell us something we don't already know; not sure why that is even relevant. I guess a Mustang is a luxury car as well. Is the Zupra awful? No, but I still stand by my statement that the 4 banger Zupra is hardly a luxury sports car. The 3.0 yes, but the 4 banger is just a stripped out version in hopes of moving a few more units a year. Glad you brought up Lexus. Sit inside the RC and Zupra and you will feel night and day differences in both design and quality. The only area where the 4 banger Zupra will probably win is the BMW iDrive. I don't think either one of us will change the other's mind, so maybe agree to disagree.

Yeah, I'm fine agreeing to disagree.
