Bucket seat or not?

I don't feel good in stock seat, my shoulders are wider than the support and I slip outside in hard corners.
I tried many Recaro and Bride seats in Japan, and the best one to my body was the Pole Position.
As I daily drive my car, how much difficult is to enter and exit the car with a bucket seat compared to another sport seat, like the Sportster CS?

This is going to heavily vary seat to seat.

It is worth noting that a lot of bucket seats do not work properly with the stock seatbelt - some people run the lap belt over the sides, some people need seat belt extenders that sit inside of the bucket area and take up a lot of hip room (and are uncomfortable), a lot of the times the lap belt no longer runs over the correct area of your hip, some organizations require all or nothing in terms of bucket means 5/6pt plus roll bar, etc.

Bucket seats are the first step down the path of starting to hate your car on the street, at least in my experience.

I have two bucket seats in my FRS.

FWIW I'm about 210 34 waist 5'11

The driver seat is a Buddy Club P1 "regular" size with a Bride FG rail.

Pros: I like how it holds me, sits low and looks great.

Cons:
  • The seat belt is a minor annoyance due to how low the seat is.
  • If I don't take the steering wheel off it can be pretty cumbersome to squeeze in and out.
  • Getting in and out is ... ok. The door stays often almost causing the door to close on my hand as I get in and out of the car.

I recently put the passenger reclinable seat in the reclinable is on a Bride FO rail. It sits much higher and doesn't move far forward to gain access to the rear seat because the top of the seat hits the headliner near the visor area.

It doesn't move far back because of the thickness of the upper seat part hitting the back seat.

This isn't my only car so daily drivability isn't as important as it once was when I was younger.

The Recaro Pole Position ABE has specific holes for passing the stock seatbelt.
I'm just debated on how much difficult is to enter and exit the car with that seat and how much it is with another reclining seat.
Getting a removable steering wheel is not an option, as it's illegal in my country.

I’ve sat in both the PP and Sportster CS, and while it’s not hard to climb into the PP, I could see it getting old after a while for DD use. I find that when the seat of a vehicle is harder to enter, the driver of the vehicle will more likely than not choose another vehicle to drive around town (if one is available).

So I vote sportster CS for sure DD use. There is also the sportster gt:

In my experience it just becomes cumbersome getting in and out of a true bucket seat when you are driving it on the street. Instead of gently sliding into the seat, you'll find yourself hopping over the bolsters and lowering yourself into the seat with your triceps. It's a cool feeling for sure but may subconsciously make you not want to drive the car as much. You've obviously had your car for a damn long time, so I'd hate to see you "ruin" the connection you have with your car by "going too far" with it. After all, you just want room for your shoulders.

Reclinable Recaro or Bride for the street IMHO.

I can't fit any Bride, they are too tight for me. Pole Position is almost perfect, a little tight at the shoulders, but this is the expected behaviour. Sportster is too wide, but not bad in alcantara version. The side of the cushion are really high, much more than the Pole Position, so I don't know if it's so comfy to sit on it...

The Pole Positon ABE is probably the only fixed back I'd consider for street driving, but I'd still much prefer a Recaro Sportser or SR7 (JDM market seat).

Even if I don't mind getting in or out of them, passengers generally hate it.

I'm 37.

SR-7 is very beautiful and really, really comfortable! The lateral support is not so different from stock anyway... Sportster is a little more sporty (more stiff and more shoulder support)
