OFT Pops and Crackle Tune just stops working after a while?
Not really sure what's going on here, but I have the V1 OFT with the Stage 1 tune on it and have retarded the valve timings at the lowest settings as well as changing the fuel cut threshold to 6000 and get pops and crackles with my car (used the mod linked here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61069). It works great for about the first few days, but then all of a sudden it just sort of...stops? Usually around 3,800 to 4,200 RPM is where I can get those nice pops, in rapid succession too. For some reason, after a few days, I'll be in the exact same place (there's this one hill close to where I live with like a 10 degree decline that is PERFECT for a super long ride down the RPM range, crackling and popping the whole way) giving it the exact same amount of throttle, and it just barely makes any noise? After running with this tune for almost 2k miles now I know how to trigger it almost on command, so I'm assuming it's not user error with the throttle. The only way I've found to fix it is to reflash the tune, then it goes back to popping every time I tip the throttle. It's almost as if the tune is learning over time. Any ideas?

sounds strange, all you need to alter is ignition timing base B table.
been doing those tunes for years no problems see if your ltft goes way positive at idle if so you might have exhaust leak or intake leak |

I’ll give it a try. Will update you tomorrow (it’s nighttime here and don’t want to wake the whole neighborhood lol) And what numbers should stick out when I’m looking? |

P.S. I understand the basics of retarding the ignition timing, but my novice mind would think that retarding the second column as well would cause almost like an overflow scenario? Where like there's simply too much fuel? Not really sure, I'm learning as I go here haha. Thanks for oyur help so far btw man! |

just one table Base timing B similar to below don't go all the way down to 800 rpm stop at 2400 you can make it simple and put -9 in 0.15 load column 2400 and above then -6 in the 0.2 load column from say 3200 and above |

Reflashed the tune and those sweet sweet pops and burbles are back to normal. Maybe it was just something wrong with the flash? Not sure, will come back and try what you said if it happens again. Thanks for the help and advice man!

Pop wont work on stock exhaust, you need catless header and a catback for them to eork. Car should drive fine, just stock exhaust too quiet for pops If you flash stock map or oft tunes you need to have stock injectors and map sensors and preferably stock intakes |
