Today I ....

... installed the Grimmspeed tow hook holder and fitted my first plates. I prefer the front with no plate, so it's a shame it's required by law.

Chicago sees it fair share of sub below zero temps and snow from the month of Dec/Jan/Feb. Just didn't wanna risk it in those days you wish you needed a better tire. I commute daily 40 miles round trip.

I also live on a side street that does not get to much plow action so the ice below the snow was a concern for me.

But lately the winter in Chicago have been tamed from the years past but you just never know..... But its damn fun driving in these in the snow ! feels rally carish.
Gotcha. I might do the same. The performance tires might be more fun more of the time, but then again there's nothing fun about crashing or getting stuck.

Overall the tires are great and will get through about anything your front end will allow. Highway driving is not great with these, anything past 70 is sketchy.
The car feels more loose up top and you gain about half an inch in height maybe less.
So let me get this straight. You went down an inch on the wheel size, but gained back a half and inch on sidewall? So really doesn't that mean you lowered the car by a half an inch? from stock 17"s on 215's? Or is having 16"s necessary to fit the 205's in there?

See you next year.

He actually raised the car by 0.3".
Going 16" was not required but surely cheaper then 17"

For my brz I went 205-55-17 on the stock wheel which raised the car a little more

the difference at the end is by how much your speedometer will be affected.

Parked it until the streets are sane (or at least until they're not coated in a quarter inch of ice, which might be awhile since we're supposed to get more on Sunday/Monday)

I should buy a car cover...

Felt a little quicker response to throttle input, not super noticable but there. Also hear the intake a bit more than stock. I eliminated the stock sound generator tube as soon as i purchased the car, so I had gotten used to the quite interior. Almost sounds like I have reinstalled the sound generator, but less aggressive sound in cabin.
