Then MiniBase popped up during lockdown and blew them all out of the water. They also have been including some modern casting methods for the engine nozzles to create highly detailed, seamless parts. To get that quality you would have had to spend $20 on a pair of resin aftermarket replacements to match 'em. I'm not the biggest fan of working with PE but having them in the kit is a huge bonus for the same reason as the nozzles. The only downside I see with the MB kit is the super fine rivet details, only because I'll kill them with all my layers of paintwork. :P

I'm personally waiting for their next release (SU-30SM) which is Jan 2022. That plane happens to be my favorite 'real life' fighter due to it's sleek profile. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/mini...ker-h--1384442

Flankers are huge an I'm not even sure one in 1/48 will even fit in my display.
The new(ish) slide moulding that they are doing will eventually kill the aftermarket resin market completely since they can now make one plastic piece with as much detail as resin.

I hear you on the size but there is always a way to make it fit someplace. When we were in the hobby shop in Seattle I had the Italeri 1/32 CF-104 (Canadian markings) in my hand about three times and talked myself out of it since "I don't have space". Then of course I got home, looked at the shelf and knew I could have made it fit so now I regret not grabbing it while I could. Next trip!

Are munitions commonly mounted on storage mode tilted wings - anywhere?
That seems ... non optimal.

Depends entirely upon the aircraft and how robust their wing fold mechs are.

I could see, in that situation, I might forget my windows were down too.

I kid you not, I just saw a guy today at a coin wash washing an XJS Jag convertible with the top DOWN! If there hadn't been so much traffic I would have stopped to snap a pic.

On this subject, anyone have some references for good sites to find models, or completed toy, cars of older vintage? I've been trying to find a 2005-2009 Mustang Convertible model for a couple of years and have had zero luck. The couple I could find are GTs (no real surprise) but would really like to find a Pony version that matches MomHawk's car.

I may have to find a couple and modify it.

A quick look shows that you are correct and they are all going to be GT's. I have no idea what is different between the Pony and the GT so a conversion could range from really easy to pretty advanced and difficult.

It's mostly the fog lights on the grill (Pony doesn't have them) and the badging. the Striping is different too that's not really a concern.

Would probably have to cut out the grill and fab a new one.

Now that I think about it, I should get her a replacement grill with the lights, it would probably be easier!

Probably the least conversion needed as long as you are not showing the engine.
